Bucket full i have no clue what is wrong, except that the instructions have been very confusing. however, i know that the bucket is installed correctly. the unintelligible instructions that i received were about the continuous flow feature. i don't want that. i hope the confusion from those instructions haven't screwed up the normal operation with the bucket. help

The bucket fills up but we have to put a towel down because it leaks all over the floor. What could be wrong ?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the bucket fills with water and overflows on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DUD. Please make sure your dehumidifier is installed on a level that will support it with a full bucket of water. If the dehumidifier is moving when it fills with water then this could possibly be the cause of the bucket overflowing. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My dehumidifier starts up as soon as the compressor clicks on the bucket full light comes on and shuts the unit off

The problem you're having is generally caused by the bucket not being installed properly. So, when the unit starts the vibration dislodges the bucket just enough that it loses contact with the Bucket Safety Removal Switch and the FULL light comes on and the unit stops

When installing the bucket, be sure that it fits "squarely" into the holder from top to bottom and makes firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch, on the rear wall of the bucket holder. When installed properly, the bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at all.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

It says it is full and there is no water in there and it will not run because it thinks it is full]

Usually when this occurs, the unit "thinks it's full', because either the water collection bucket is not installed properly or the float valve (if you model has one) in the top of the bucket, is stuck in the "UP' position.

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove the water collection bucket and check for the float valve. If it's stuck in the UP position, jiggle the handle to make it return to the DOWN position. Then reinstall the bucket, being sure that it fits into it's holder "squarely" from top to bottom and is making firm contact with the Bucket Safety Removal Switch on the rear wall of the bucket holder. If installed properly, the bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at all. Plug the unit in and turn it ON. If everything was done correctly, the Full Bucket Light should not illuminate.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a zenith zd300yo. the machine turns on for approximatly 2 seconds then shuts down. The bucket full light blinks on and off and the diplay screen shows 01.

If the bucket is not really full, it usually means the when the bucket was remove and reinstalled, it wasn't installed properly. Turn the unit OFF and unplug it. Remove the bucket and look inside of it, to see is there is a float valve. If so, it may be stick in the UP position. Jiggle it to make it return to DOWN position.

If your unit does not have afloat valve, reinstall the bucket, making sure it fit's "squarely" into the bucket holder. Once installed properly, the bottom of the tank should not tilt down at all. And it should be making contact with the bucket removal safety switch.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have a slow blinking red light - not working

Normally, the slow blinking red light, indicates that the water collection tank/bucket is full and needs to be emptied. If the bucket is NOT full, it indicates that the tank/bucket was not installed or reinstalled properly, because it did not make secure contact with the bucket removal safety switch. Removing the bucket and reinstalling it properly will normally resolve the problem. Make sure the bucket fits squarely into it's holder from top to bottom.

In case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it, that you can download and print for future reference.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Doesn't run, turn on or anything............I think it has died. Bought in 2004. Any suggestions? 65 pint/2 speed. Hose connection to drain, no reservoir needed.

the full bucket switch on these models goes bad, o.k.,i know, you said its hooked to a hose to the drain so the bucket never fills up,but, seriously, test the "bucket full" (in the upper right hand area of where the bucket installs) shut-off switch,as this will kill one of these units if it goes bad as it carries all the units power through it at all times,i replace many of these every season,if this switch goes bad it shuts off the entire unit

Model 501D(had the wrong model number before) When I turn the unit on where the humidity is set there is a code CO 01. Unable to find my manual. the unit starts then turns off.

I will advice you check the water bucket to see if it is full and empty the bucket in a sink if needed. GE dehumidifiers have a safety feature that shuts down the device when the water in the bucket reaches a certain level.
Install the bucket correctly in the unit by hooking the slots on the bucket on the posts on the back of the device. The dehumidifier will not run if the bucket is not properly setup in the device.
Take care.
