Lets see what i can do
sometimes under the screen edge either side or bottom they have the menu buttons these have become hard to find but there on your screen on one of the buttons the select should be de gaus (spell check) this sends a powerful power signal to monitor to reset its self some times its scary to watch but when it does that it should release the buttons parameters back to working state then use the buttons to set your parameters

the other thing is there is something stuck or broke in the button which was pushed a little harder then most
if this is the case
and you dont want to mess with monitor then take to computer tech. they will tear down and replace button backing sometimes the button backing points break off or disalign do to tomuch preasure on the button
i hope this helped you

Benq monitor black bar

you monitor has an Auto Config button, push it. Or go into the screen menu (buttons on monitor) and find the auto setting there. If that doesn't work, check your display properties and make sure you desktop is set to the same size as you computer screen.

Press the OSD (On Screen Display) button on the face of the monitor. You'll find controls to control the size & position both horizontally & vertically.

Monitor's display is shifted up and right so that there is just black space to the left and all along the bottom whereby cutting off the display. cannot see bottom menu bar.

One of the buttons on the front of you monitor (bottom right hand corner of the bezel) is a menu button. Press that then using the the arrows up and down buttons go the the horizontal and vertical positioning option. Once chosen move the display as desired.

You could also press the Auto (config) button, that may do the same for you.

Display wont expand to the left

What brand and model of monitor is it? Usually there is an auto config button that makes everything right. It is usually labeled Auto. If that doesn't fix it, press the menu button and see if you can increase the horizontal size and move it. If that doesn't work, take the monitor apart and reconnect the video cable that goes into the panel.

Monitor displaying everything horizontally

Some monitors don't give orientation feedback to the video card to auto change the orientation when you move from a horizontal screen to vertical. what you need to do is get to display properties and advanced settings (right click desktop > properties > settings > advanced > video card settings > orientation) - you should find an option to change the orientation of the display - correct it accordingly. if the settings are not being saved after you restart, you need a video driver update - find it on your manufacturers website.

(I posted the latest post.) Change the resolution. (Mine was 1024 by 768, so I changed it first to 800 by 600 and then back to 1024 by 768, and it's back to normal!)

Hope that helps.
