I do a lot of hemming on my machine, the underneath stitch is real real loose, I tried adjusting stuff, still is so loose I have to cut it and begin again, thanks

Is your top thread not pulling the bobbin thread up? This would be top tension too loose. FYI--be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the upper thread so it will seat properly in the tension disks.

If the bobbin thread is loose, then the bobbin tension may need to be tightened.

Bernina activa 130 tension loose after needle breaking into bobbin area

Is it the bobbin tension that is very loose? Try tightening it. Also check that the bobbin has been installed in the bobbin case, turning the correct direction and that the bobbin tension is threaded properly.

Bobbin Tension How and Why Tension is Adjusted

Understanding Bobbin Tension

Understanding Thread Tension Threads

If it is the upper tension that is loose and creating "thread nests" under the fabric, the machine is either misthreaded or possibly the thread is not seated completely in the tension disk.

Remove the upper thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the upper thread from the beginning--verify the thread path is correct.
Set the upper tension to the midway point between high & low number (the factory standard--although it may need tweaking later for your particular machine).

Retest your machine. Hopefully, the issue has been resolved. If not, it may need service.

Bobbin threat loose

Make sure you have threaded the machine properly--which usually involves removing the thread and rethread from the beginning. Make sure to RAISE the presser foot before threading the upper thread. Check that the bobbin is loaded in the bobbin case and it is threaded properly.

The upper thread breaks immediately I start operating

Upper thread breaks
needle may be in backwards

Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw

to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat

side to the back of the machine

Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then

tighten the needle clamp screw

upper tension may be to tight

the needle may be bent or damaged

thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads

or lint

The upper thread is too loose and the bobbin thread is taken up too much

It is the upper thread which pulls the bobbin thread up. If the bobbin thread is taken up to much, one solution is to loosen the upper thread -- but the upper thread is too loose. Therefore, the same problem needs to be combated from the bobbin side.
The thread from the bobbin should slide through a wedge. On that wedge should be a screw. It needs tightened. The bobbin thread should be tight as follows:
A fully loaded bobbin should tangle by the thread without falling. While dangling the bobbin by the thread, bounce the bobbin (yo-yo style). An easy tug should cause the bobbin to release an inch or two of thread and then the bobbin should stop falling on its own.
Once the bobbin tensioner is correct, you should be able to tighten the upper tensioner.

How to thread the bobin on a elna air electronic su. where do i put the loose end when threading the bobin

I assume you mean when you wind a bobbin full of thread??

You take the end of thread from your spool through the tension device or an eyelet on top of the machine, then back to the bobbin on the bobbin winder and thread the loose end through a top hole on the bobbin. Click the bobbin in against the stop and press on the pressure foot to start to wind. Hold the top thread for a bit as the bobbin starts to fill and then once it has been covered by a row or two of thread, stop and cut of the loose end from top of the bobbin. Now continue to wind the bobbin until it cuts out as it fills against the stopper. Nudge the thread with a finger tip as it spools onto the bobbin to help get the bobbin filled top and bottom and not just in the middle. (bit like when you coil the garden hose onto the reel, it always wants to go in the middile only and then jams up LOL).

Also a really good idea to place your scissors handle into the top of the thread spool to slow/control it as the thread reels off it. This helps give an even tension on the thread going onto the bobbin which really helps with stitch quality later.

Using Singer 7470 for the first time, and my bobbin thread is bunching terribly. There is a loud sound from the bobbin chamber, as if the mechanism is bouncing around??? How can I fix this bobbin issue?...

1. Take bobbin out and re-insert and thread.
If that dosen't work, try:
2. Take bobbin out and bobbin case, clean area and re-insert bobbin case and bobbin.
If that dosen't work, try:
3. Re-thread the top thread that goes to the needle. (Sometimes the thread dosen't hook to the "Thread take-up"(page 6 on manual). It pulls the bobbin thread and the bobbing becomes loose inside the bobbin case.
If that dosen't work, try:
4. Wind a new bobbin (Sometimes a bobbin might wind thread to lose) Do not wind thread to the edge of bobbin.
If that dosen't work, you should take it in to be serviced...Somenthing might become loose that only a technitian can correct.
Also check manual for troubleshooting.
Good luck.....

Threading bobbin

Put the bobbin in the bobbin case and slide the thread in the slot.
Pull the thread until it goes under the flat spring.
Now, by holding the bobbin case, pull the thread.
It should'nt be too loose or too tight.
to adjust the tension of the thread turn the small screw right for more tight, or left for more loose.
Hold the bobbin case upwards and put it in to the sewing hook until it clicks.
