Question about Dell Inspiron 1300 Notebook
The easiest way to disable the touchpad is by changing the pointing device settings in your laptop's bios. Please follow the steps below for additional information:
1. Turn on your computer. Press F2 when Dell logo comes up. It will open the bios setup program.
2. Now, press Alt-p three times to get to page number 4. Near the middle of the screen you should see an option called Pointing Device. Please change it from touchpad - PS/2 Mouse to just PS/2 Mouse (this also works fine with USB mouse). Press ESC to exit the bios, make sure to save the changes.
