Canon Rebel won't turn on, red light next to "CF"

Hi,

My camera was working fine and I switched the memory card to another one. Now it won't turn back on. There is a red light on next to the letters "CF" (just to the right of the display screen.)

Hi,
Assuming you have tried another card you know to be good...
Remove the memory card, main and backup battery, switch the camera on for 10 mins. While you are waiting look into the memory card slot with a torch and make sure none of the pins at the bottom are bent.
If there is this will mean opening the camera to straighten it or sending it in for repair.
If not refit backup battery and main battery and cross fingers..:)
best of luck

Canon t3i will not turn on without sd card?

This a situation the manual not even mentions. The red light on the bottom right of the camera is the memory access indicator. It should light green as I remember ok. And blink when it is writing to or reading from the memory. If it is red, it means : this is not ok.
This light is not a gadget. It should be taken serious. As long as it is burning, of flashing you are not supposed to switch of the camera or to remove the memory card. If you still open the memory compartment or switch of the camera or remove the battery, while the camera indicates I'n accessing the memory, serious damage can occur to the memory card.
You could lose all your pictures, because of it.
I would suggest, make sure your battery is charged correctly.
Format your memory card in a PC with FAT 32.
Check if al contacts in the camera are clean and shiny. (Battery and memory card contacts too)
The place the battery and the memory card in the camera and try switching it on again. If it should start, first do a format of the memory card in the camera before you starts taking pictures, of the camera has its own format and can make a folder.

You should be able to switch on the camera without a memory card inside. The camera will us the internal buffer, to let you take a picture in DEMO mode.

I hope the red light does not indicate your internal memory is corrupted. Because if nothing helps and the red light comes back, I think you should contact a Canon service centre.

SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

Panasonic DMC-TZ3: one day it's working fine, next it won't power on. Tried the "Power Saver" reset technique posted ... didn't work. Battery is fully-charged.

Hello
Try removing the battery and the memory card for 1 minute then return them back. Make sure the battery is inserted properly. If that didn't work, try turning it on without the memory card.

Did you get any error message when you try to turn on your camera?

When i turn on camera ..in red letters it says card locked. what do i need to do so it will work again?

Remove the memory card from the camera, look along the one edge and you will see a tiny switch, slide it towards the contacts to unlock the card. The switch that is in the furthest position from the contacts is in the locked position to prevent the pictures from being erased, now! if you find the card is already unlocked slide it back and forth to reset. If that fails the memory card will need to be replaced.

Hi Steven its look like Memory card or Lens error. Just try this below and let me know the result.

1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. When you turn it on it says "sensor fail" and

Ok this sounds crazy but take out the batteries and your sd memory card. Wait five seconds. Put ONLY BATTERIES back in the camera. Turn it back on. It should not show the "sensor fail" message now.

Put in the sd card while camera is on. It will say "memory full" in red letters. Ignore this.

Turn the camera off using the on/off switch. Turn the camera back on using the on/off switch.

It's been a while since you've posted, but I hope this helps! It worked for my camera anyhow :)

When I press the power button the light turns

hi..
Try taking out your batteries and then taking out your memory card. Put back in batteries. Turn on camera.

If this works, just put back in your memory card and try again. Sometimes the memory card hangs and you need to pop it in and out.

thank u

Photosmart HP M525 Camera( Memory Card Problems)

Go into my computer. Select the drive letter for that memory card with the mouse. Press the right mouse button and select format. Use the FAT option to format not NTSC.
