STOP SD MEMORY CARDS ARE NOT ALL THE SAME !This is a very common issue as of late because of the fairly recent addition to the market place with the "HC" and "XD" Cards.
I have found most computer older than 2008 wont read HC and XD cards however I'm sure there are USB card readers that can fill this gap available at your local pc shop.
Please look Carefully at these different formats
Standard SD: 1 MB to 4 GB readable by almost all computers most often up to 2GB rarely up to 4GB SDHC: 4 GB to 32 GB Most older Computers Cannot read the the HC format, good however for NEWER devices such as camera's, video cameras and recent phones (my cannon powershot S80 will NOT read HC format, nor will my 2007 laptop.) SDXC: 32 GB to 2 TiB same limitations as above, Great cards for Digital Video Camera though! here is a wikipedia note"Changes to the interface of the established format have made some older devices designed for standard SD cards (≤4 GB) unable to handle newer formats such as SDHC (≥4 GB). All SD cards have the same physical shape, which causes confusion for many consumers" So.. in closing MAKESURE your device supports HC and or XC before your purchase one! Also be aware that most of these cards have a lock switch on them to write protect the data, located on the side of the card. It MUST be in the Unlocked position to operate normally. Hope this helps someone out there. please use the thumbs up if it clears up anything for you! Gurvy
Hello Gerri, If you double-click on the folder do you see the photos as a thumbnail image ? If so you can transfer them yourself. Best Regards, Russell
It is the reader that is the problem.
If you have a laptop, then you need to buy a usb card reader
On the off chance the manufacture has a fix (firmware update) logon to the support website of the computer manufacture click support enter your model number and look for related updates.
No you don't need something to make your sandisk(sd) card to work when you place it in the sd slot of your computer, now if your sd card is a hc or high compacity card then it would not work because the sd card reader is not new upgraded enough to the point of reading the hc cards if its not a hc card then your sd card reader may be broken you can buy a good new sd card and more port hub to work on your computer but i would check first if it is your card not the card reader.
I think that because it is SD HC, You wont be able to use it. This is caused because your camera is old, and the card reader on your camera is not SD HC.
Your card reader probably cant read HC cards. Any of the newer cards 4GB and above is considered HC: High Capacity and only the newer card readers can read that. Same thing goes with older cameras. 2GB would be the max for older cameras that dont support HC and card readers that dont support it.
Hi,
First check it in ur laptop whether Card reader was installed or not.If ur laptop doesn't install drivers then Take from nearest service center and install the drivers.
