MY PRINTER SHOWS 5010 CODE HOW DO I CORRECT THIS PROBLEM PLEASE ?

Error code 5010 indicates carriage lift mechanism error. That means that the carriage did not move up or down properly. You need to replace PR lift shaft assy, Sheet feed unit, Logic board assy, Carriage lift sensor unit. Before replacement of the logic board assy, check the waste ink amount (by service test print or EEPROM information print). If the waste ink amount is 7% or more, also replace the ink absorber kit when replacing the logic board assy.

Error code 5010

Error code 5010 indicates carriage lift mechanism error. That means that the carriage did not move up or down properly. You need to replace PR lift shaft ***'y (QL2-0936), Sheet feed unit (QM2-2916), Logic board ***'y (QM2-3078), Carriage lift sensor unit (QM2-3092). In brakets you have the part number for each one of them. Before replacement of the logic board ***'y, check the waste ink amount (by service test print or EEPROM information print). If the waste ink amount is 7% or more, also replace the ink absorber kit (QY5-0146) when replacing the logic board ***'y.

Canon pixma mx700 error code 5010

5010 is a scanner error from the scanner on top. Canon has no parts for these and you can only replace the entire top of your machine. If you can get it apart, you might clean and lube, but it's not made to be opened.

Printer will not print, error code 5010 is

5010 is a scanner error, either worn out scan lamp or sensors. Canon only replaces the entire scan assembly, if you like I can get part number and price.

Re: Error Code 5010

it can have alot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. You're on the right track - I found the the purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) was not lubricated well enough from factory. If you lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps) the mechanism can now slide more freely, and the unit can park the head properly without giving you the dreaded head homing error 5100 (or E-2-2 on the LCD display) Keep in mind that this repair will probably require you to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. There are two screws behind the printer, and two in front for each corrosponding side panel (the front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on) Hope this helps some of you out.
