The Microsoft PTP driver only supports deleting images from the camera if
the camera's firmware supports the delete picture command. There are some
known issues with some Sony cameras. I would check with Sony and see if
there is a firmware update for your camera. Here's the firmware update page
for Cybershot camera's:

capable of is not letting the MemoryStick get formatted in FAT format. On
further exploration, I found an application called PTP Manager by ImageMixer
on the supplied ImageMixer CD. I tried to install it but it gives the
following error message:
site is very vague: they say that PTP Manager is compatible with all
versions of windows, but there might be a conflict with something on my PC.
I'm thinking maybe the Scanner & Camera Wizard or Device Manager.
files are more or less the same size it should work. I'm thinking if i can
install PTP manager then I "should" be able to erase pix on the camera from
the PC and get the PC to actually "see" camera info.
