I own a Maxim Expres machine. I no longer use it nor have the manual, but the following are my recollections.
I have the version with an on/off switch on the front and a separate knob to control the steam nozzle.

- Use the carafe to measure the water, then pour into the tank and replace the screw-on lid.
- Measure coffee into the metal basket (don't remember the proportions of coffee to water - you
have to experiment.)
- I tamped the coffee lightly - not as much pressure as you use with a pump-driven machine.
- Put the basket into the handle, line up the slots and twist the handle to the side to secure (I'm
sure the models vary in this regard). Place the carafe under the drip hole.
- Push the button to "on". For espresso, just wait until it stops dripping. This is a steam-driven
machine - don't expect much or any crema.
- Frothing: If you are going to froth milk, you need to do it WHILE THE COFFEE IS DRIPPING.
-Wait until coffee starts dripping into the carafe (otherwise there is not enough steam pressure)
-Submerge the nozzle tip under the surface of the milk and turn the knob on the steam nozzle.
-After frothing, turn the nozzle to closed and wait for coffee to finish.
-If you wait too long to start frothing, the coffee will finish and you will lose steam pressure.

That's what I remember, hope it helps.

You have two ways to solve an equation in the TI83PlusTI84PLUS
  1. The solve( command the syntax of which is solve( expr, var, guess, {lower_limit, upper_limit}). Here expr is the expression (without =0), var is the variable you solve for, guess is you estimate of the solution, lower_limit and upper_limit are the bounds of the domain where you are looking for a solution. Of course your guess must be between theses limits.
  2. The Interactive Solver.
The solve( command
  • The solve command is accessed through the catalog of commands [2nd][0] (CATALOG).
  • Press [LN] (S) to let the cursor jump to the first command that starts with s.
  • Scroll down to reach the solve( command.
  • Select it and press [ENTER]. The command echoes on main screen.
  • Enter the different arguments: expr, var, guess, etc.
  • Close the right parenthesis and press [ENTER].
  • Wait for the solution to be displayed.
The interactive solver

Press [MATH][0:Solver]. You see what is on the first picture (I entered K-0.5*V^2). Press [ENTER]. You see what is on the right picture.

In the interactive solver you enter a value for all the parameters, constants, for all, save the entity you are solving for, here V. So you must clear the 0 to the right of the = sign after the V. when finished you press [ALPHA][ENTER] (SOLVE).
Here is what I get for the small exemple I chose.

Left -rt=0 shows that the root was found to within the calculator's tolerance.

Hi. can i calulate the integrals with TI83?if yes how can i do it

Yes you can calculate numerical values of in tegrals. The function is called fnInt(. It is accessible through
  1. the CATALOG of commands:
  2. [2nd][0](CATALOG) and
  3. press [COS](F) to jump to the commands starting with f.
  4. Scroll down to highlight the fnInt( function and press [ENTER]
  5. Alternatively, press [MATH][9:fnInt(] and press [ENTER]
  6. In both cases (4 and 5),the command echoes on main screen.
Once the command is on main screen complete it by typing in its arguments. The syntax is as follows

fnInt( expr, var, lower_limit, upper_limit), to use default tolerance or
fnInt( expr, var, lower_limit, upper_limit, tol), tu use your tolerance.

In the commands above,
  1. expr is the expression for the function to be integrated.
  2. var is the name of the dummy variable of integration, usually x
  3. lower_limit is the numerical value of the lower bound
  4. upper_limit is the numerical value of the upper bound
  5. tol is a user-specified tolerance value (default is 1E-3.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
