What is the symbol --se-- on a amana serial number1000001gt radarange microwave oven mean

"SE" means you have a defective membrane keypad.

With your full model number, I could have given you detailed instructions and parts numbers.

But without that, I'll have to just be generic.

If your model's membrane keypad is available as a separate part, that's usually the cheapest but most involved way to fix it.

Here is a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If it's not available separately, then you can replace either the control panel frame assembly, which comes with a new keypad on it, or the entire control box / controller assembly.

There is a a YouTube video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

We have a Hotpoint microwave model no. RVM15135DM2WW. It works well for about 2 minutes at a time then shuts down. Sometimes a PF will appear on the screen. I'm assuming it's overheating. Th

see the steps and use the common sense:
God bless you
All microwaves have some sort of a cooling fan to help keep the magnetron and controls at a tolerable level. Most OTR models will usually use the vent motor for the cooling fan also. Countertop units have a small fan behind the control panel somewhere. Either way, if the cooling fan is not working and heat builds up, it is going to open a thermostat. On some makes, this thermostat might re-set itself as soon as the temperature cools down. Other makes, you will have to replace the thermostat or fuse.
If this is your microwave oven repair problem, you will need to check the operation of the fan. Below in the component testing chart, you will see how to test the fan. Also, if possible, make sure the fan is not obstructed somehow and not turning. Also check your fan relay at your control board for voltage, if no voltage, replace control board. This fan should come on at the same time any cooking starts.

The cooktop lights of my whirlpool microwave have quit working and both bulbs are in good condition. I know how to access the fuses. which fuse needs to bee replaced?

In some cases, it may be a fuse on some Whirlpool models, but your control circuit board may need repair, too.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing. It will help you find the fuses. See video link below.

We see (and repair) this type of board failure a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid with a one year guarantee.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan, cooling fan, turntable, and/or inside light operation, too.

Details of our service are at our Web site, along with a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Or you can order a new control circuit board from the Pros here, our favorite supplier.

Model-MH3184xpb-0 Lock symbol on keypad, continuos beeping. I unplugged power for now

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

If it still fails, you have a failed membrane keypad.

On this model, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame.

That is a simple do-it-yourself job, and the part is very affordable.

It is part number 8205376 and you can get it from the Pros here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven (as MH3184XPB0 with no dashes) here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

My microwave is completely dead. I have checked the fuse in the plug and it is fine. Any suggestions?

Hello,

What you are to do to solve the problem is to do a general troubleshooting on your oven below are instruction to follow.

The Microwave is a counter top model with a variety of preset cooking options, including timed cooking at a variety of power levels and sensor-cooking settings for popcorn, rice, beverages and single-serving reheating.

The sensor cooking and reheating features detect increasing humidity levels inside the microwave and automatically adjust cooking time for various types and amounts of food. This microwave also includes a turntable and an electronic control panel.

Instructions below are step by step solution for your oven

  1. Check to see if the microwave will start. If it will not start and the display panel is blank, you may have a power problem. Unplug the microwave and then plug it back in, making sure that all three prongs of the power cord are fully inserted into the wall outlet. If this doesn't work, check your home's fuse box. Reset the circuit breaker to restore if necessary.
  2. Ensure that the microwave door is fully closed. Press the Clear/Off button to cancel any previous cooking instructions. Re-enter your cooking program, including cooking time and food weight if necessary, and press Start.
  3. If "Err" appears on the microwave display, press the Clear/Off button and reenter your cooking program. The "Err" message will appear during the sensor-controlled programs (Popcorn, Rice, Beverage or Reheat) if the door is opened before steam is detected or if no steam was detected within the maximum amount of time allowed by the microwave. Be sure to leave the door closed during these programs, at least until time is shown counting down on the display panel.
  4. If your control panel will not work or if an "L" is displayed on the screen, press and hold the Clear/Off button for a full three seconds to unlock the control panel.
  5. If your sensor reheat program is resulting in under- or overcooked food, first try decreasing the amount of food in the microwave; the sensor programs are designed for single servings of food. The sensor reheat function works by measuring humidity inside the microwave--do not use a tightly-covered dish with this setting because no moisture will be able to escape and the food will overcook. Be sure that cooking containers are dry; moist containers will increase the humidity in the microwave and mislead the sensor, resulting in undercooked food.
  6. If your turntable is not rotating, first check to ensure that your food container is positioned so that it can freely rotate without hitting the microwave's interior walls; using a smaller food container can fix this problem. If the turntable still will not rotate, lift the turntable from its support and replace it carefully, ensuring that it rests evenly on its support.
Good luck.

Thank you and thanks for using fixya.

I have a Sharp R-410AW Carousel microwave and need to replace the LED (LCD?) panel. I fund a part for this model with P/N PSHEPA588WRE0 on-line, but it is called an LED sheet and costs only $6.95. I am...

I'm not a repair tech but I have an R410Ew that's doing the same thing. This is a common problem on these models. Here is something to consider. I believe the control panel wasn't properly sealed off from the oven. Over time, steam, grease fumes etc may have compromised the bus connector contacts [3-2] and it may just need to be cleaned. The bus connector also may have vibrated loose. [3-8] is the 7 segment display that the bus plugs into.
Be sure you unplug the power cord before accessing the control panel.a49631f.png. .

you probably have to replace the keypad control, or you could try checking the connections to the keypad by taking the cabinet and checking the connections to see if they're loose.

There is a red LED panel on the front displaying a key symbol - it seems to lock the system and I can't use it - how do I swithc this off.

It may reset if you power cycle it..meaning unplugging the power cord and then plugging it in but if you want a detailed answer , you will need to provide a brand and model with your question.. Also, does the control panel have a lock button that you can press to toggle it on or off?

Display lights

If the lights are attached to a circuit board behind the front panel, it is possible that this has come adrift and is sitting back from it's design position - this is relatively easy to solve and is a relatively common problem especially if the oven has been often moved around or if buttons have been pressed a little too hard. Possibly a supply voltage fault could cause this, especially if the lights in question are incandescent bulbs rather than LED's, however if the whole oven appears to function fine apart from dim lights, then this is unlikely to be the problem. HOWEVER, unless you have a reasonable knowledge of this sort of equipment, I would not recommend carrying out a repair yourself as microwave ovens are notorious for injuring amateur repair personnel due to high voltages stored in various electronic components even after unplugging the machine. Recommendation is to get it to a service agent - If you are confident that you can safely open the cover, then please do so just to see if the small circuit board where the lights should be has shifted - only touch things inside the cover if you are absolutely sure you know what you are doing. If this appears to be the problem then either get it repaired professionally (should be a five minute job at most), or ask me for more details if you feel you want to try yourself.
