Hi,
As you said monitor is still under warranty so I would not recommend to do any thing with monitor as it void its warranty.
Just call Staples Store and ask them warranty cover and get it fixed or get replacement.
Please do not attempt to fix/ repair monitor by yourself, this will void/ invalid its warranty and store will refuse your claim.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

try to auto adjust with your monitor if possible or try a different resolution to see what works better

No picture no sound grey blue screen

it sounds like the expensive part (the lcd screen) is ok, its probably a fault with the video board inside the monitor, this could be replaced/fixed. There could also be a problem with the power board. if it is either of these, the monitor needs to be serviced by a professional. you could try plugging the monitor into a different computer, if this is the problem it means you need a new graphics card, or need to re-install the graphics drivers on the computer.

I have model 1975NW. When power is turned on, green light appears, then orange light. No picture is present.

The ORANGE light indicates "power-saving" mode -- when no "output" from a video-card is being detected, the screen will dim itself. Try a different monitor. Try a different video-card in your computer. Try your monitor on a different computer.

No picture on screen

Try connecting the CRT to a different (desktop or laptop) computer, to confirm that the CRT is still working.

Try connecting a different CRT (or LCD) monitor to your computer, to confirm that your computer is sending video-output.

If possible, try a different "data" cable between the computer and the CRT.

My screen only shows a picture for a few seconds

Try connecting a different monitor to your computer, to see if that monitor shows the same symptoms. If so, your computer, not your monitor, is the problem.

Try connecting your monitor to a different computer (desktop or laptop) to see if the problem "follows" the monitor.

Are Dell monitors not compatible with older HP Pavilion Computer? I tried to connect my HP CPU to a Dell monitor and it will not recognize it at all.

It shouldn't make any difference which monitor you are connecting to any computer. In fact, I am running a 19" HP Flat Panel on my Dell Dimension 2400 right now. It is NOT a wide screen monitor as the Dell built in graphics card will not support the RESOLUTION RATIO required for the wide screen. Check what setting is "native resolution" for your monitor and see if your graphics card will support it. If not, using your old monitor, try different resolution settings. Right click on your desk top, click on properties and that should bring up the display properties box. Try a lower setting as larger settings are the ones that will give you a black screen. It will probably give you a smaller picture on your old monitor, or perhaps smaller or larger icons on the desk top. Accept the new settings, turn off your computer and switch monitors, and turn your computer back on. If you get a picture, but it does not fill the whole screen or the icons seem too large or small, then go back into properties from the desktop and try a different resolution ratio until the picture seems correct.

Display area extends beyond the area of the monitor

Hopefully there is a cable loose or something like that. Try reseating the cabling. I think it is a monitor problem but it wouldn't hurt to try the monitor on anouther computer. It sounds lke a heat problem in the monitor scanning circuitry. It may be repairable if the picture is still looking good. Youll need a schenmatic and some patience and a soldering iron or a reputable service tech.

Turn on the monitor the screen says "out of range" in a small window and turns off

Lower down resoluction and color quality to minimum on your pc, using 'display properties' in Windows. Connect the monitor back to pc with minimal settings. If it works is done.
If it still does not work there is a major problem with the monitor. In this case It should be opened and tested inside following schematics. In this case you may need to take the monitor to a service in your area.
