Hello,

Here are two user manunal below.
INSTRUCTION

The Rival roaster oven frees up your conventional oven for other purposes or can be used instead of a regular oven. Some models are equipped with buffet serving trays that can be used to keep food warm anywhere there is electricity available. Using a Rival roaster is basically the same as using a conventional oven. In most cases, cooking times are the same. Cleaning the oven is simple and easy, because most parts can be lifted out of the appliance and washed normally.

  • Wash and dry the roasting pan, roasting rack and buffet trays before the first use. This will remove any packaging dust on the appliance.

  • 2

Assemble the roasting pan and rack into the roaster base. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees while empty. Allow the roaster to operate for 10 to 20 minutes after achieving temperature. This will burn off any smoke and odors from the manufacturing process.

  • 3

Place the roasting pan in the appliance and preheat to the desired temperature. Add the roasting rack and the food to be cooked. Not all food require the rack. Check the manual for your specific model to see which foods need the rack.

  • 4

Place the lid on the roaster and cook the food according to the recipe directions. It is recommended that if you want crispier, browned skin on poultry that you do not add any liquids to the roaster until the last 30 minutes.

  • 5

Turn the temperature control to "Off" at the end of the cooking time and unplug the roaster from the electrical outlet.

  • 6

Use oven mitts or pot holders to remove the lid from the roaster as it will be very warm. Use pot holders to lift the food from inside the roaster and serve.

  • TIPS

Almost any food that can be baked in a conventional oven can be cooked in the roaster oven. If you do not have a manual for your Rival roaster oven, you can download a copy from the Rival website (See Resources). Fill the roasting pan half full of water, preheat to 350 degrees with the lid on the roaster. Place the buffet trays in place above the water to keep food hot for serving, if your model has this feature.

  • Read the instructions. Whenever you buy a small appliance, it pays to read the instructions. Not only will you learn how to properly use your roaster oven, but you'll also learn how to take care of it as well.

  • 2

Clean everything. When you take the unit out of the box, be sure to wash all the parts that can be submerged in water. Take a cloth and wipe out the heating part of the unit to remove any small pieces of packing material.

  • 3

Let the unit heat. Before you use your roaster oven to cook anything, plug it up and allow it to heat for 15 minutes. This will burn off the chemicals that were used during manufacturing.

  • 4

Consider your cooking options. Many people buy a roaster oven and use it strictly for making their holiday turkey. This is a real shame because the unit can be used for several different cooking techniques. You can use your roaster oven the same way you use any other oven. This means that you can put casseroles and even cakes in the unit. You can even use the unit as a slow cooker.

  • 5

Remember that this unit can be used for more than just cooking. Many roaster ovens come with a buffet insert. This means that you can use the unit as a way to keep holiday side dishes or party appetizers warm. You can even use the larger insert to keep chili and soups warm as well.

  • INSTRUCTION

A roaster oven is a great way to save energy in the kitchen. It also makes a great second oven during the holidas . Discovering how to use your roaster oven though, can be a bit confusing. You must learn how to clean it and eliminate those funky odors that come from the unit when it's turned on for the first time. With just a few easy steps, you'll learn how to use your roaster oven to its fullest.

    TIPS

  • If your roaster oven didn't come with a buffet insert, visit the manufacturer's Web site. Some brands have buffet inserts that are sold separately.
  • When heating the unit for the first time, you will smell an odor. This is completely normal. Check your manual for more information.

  • Thank you and thanks for using fixya.

The oven control should turn all way to the right and the heat will clean it. Your's may be different , therefore i would go to the Mfg's website and download an owners manual. All appliance companies offer these free manuals Col. Dana Gillespie

I am usind a rival roaster oven for the first time and their was no instructions in the box and I have never used one before so I am not sure how to go about it.

Hello we were just in a chat session and I told you it would be ok to use foil in the oven but it is not. According to Rival it is not ok because it can make the temp in the oven go over 500 degrees. and the temp in the oven should not go over 500 degrees so you can mess up your oven. Get a cooking bag from the store really quick if you can. Please do not use foil.
