If it never started after putting in diesel fuel it is definitely fix able. Carb and fuel lines will have to be cleaned. If it did run a while there is still a shot. If this is a 4stroke model, good chance just clean out carb and fuel lines. If 2 still a good shot I have had success with same problem. Pull it over and see if it still has compression if so your probably good to go with the cleaning I mentioned above.

My echo packpack blower won't start

How long has it been since its been started? If its been a while go to Home Depot and get some fuel stabilizer follow the instructions - if it hasn't been to long go to home depot and get a new spark plug and replace the old one as well as clean the filter -make sure to put fresh oil/gas ratio in the tank - use stabilizer if needed

Gas and oil mixed in 4 cycle backpack leaf blower

If it is a 4 cycle blower, you do not mix oil with the fuel....It takes straight Gas. there is an oil cap to put engine oil in crankcase, this only usually takes 2,3,4 oz. of oil. Sounds like your Spark Plug probably fouled out from having oil mixed in your gas. I would recomend changing your Spark Plug and put some Fresh GAS only in the blower, dump the old stuff out !!! You should be on your way Blowing in No Time !

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TOUCH THE CARB!!! Put the right 2cycle fuel mix in with new spark plug and run it, it will gradually pick up R.P.M's as it cleans out. once you get it running hit your primer button while holding it wide open, this will cause it to bog down and possible stall then start it again and do this half dozen times, what it is doing is pulling your fresh gas through the carb, another way is start and hold throttle wide open and work your choke open/shut back and forth several times, You do not have to clean your carb, this is simple problem to fix by doing what I said, Happy Leaf Blowing ! 2StrokeJim

Put a new carb on my stihl 400 backpack also a new fuel filter and air filter starts great and runs at full speed and then the rpms drop can bring back to full speed but will drop again no fun blowing

Lucy, the problem is that you have a blocked tank vent/ gas cap. Try just loosening the gas cap, just a crack not even one turn. You are bypassing the tank vent. Now start it and see if it runs longer with out boggind down.If this fixes it, you will need a new gas cap.
