Question about Whirlpool 24 in. DU1100XTP Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Clean light is blinking, have already killed the power, then called to whirlpool and they walked me through resetting it by pushing buttons, however when i attempted to run it after resetting it, it started to run then went right back to the flashing clean light. i tried resetting it again, and ended up with the same result.

The clean light issue hit our dishwasher too.  We flipped the breaker to see it that would work.  No.  We hit cancel.  Won't fix it.  Looked at the latching.  Seems ok.

    Now what?

You may a a latching issue. d/w not latching properly. How long does it take before the clean light comes on after you reset it. does it fill with water? if so, then your motor may be defective.

Whirlpool model KUDSO1FL not starting cleaning

I fixed the problem by hitting Hi-Scrub then Economy Dry in sequence four times in a row. All of the lights came on, I am assuming to reset it the program, then went off and the start button was highlighted. I then pressed cancel and then selected the program that I wanted to wash with and pressed start. It worked like a charm.

Clean light blinked and was reset and now nothing

Bearing in motor rusted on mine. We are working on it right now. Already paid $70 for a service call. They said we need a new motor. Just looking for the part now.

''Clean'' light is blinking, ''Cancel'' does not reset the cycle.

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring).
It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Good luck!

Clean ligh is blinking

youll need to remove the bottom acess panel of d/w there should be an extensive trouble shooting guide tapedto back of panel in a sleeve, lotsa good stuff in there. depending on buttons its going to repuire pushing a sequence. "
sani-rinse---heated dry--sani rinse--heated dry.
it will enter a diag mode "all lights will light up" wait a few secs and then cancel cycle .. if happens a again or with frequency, then call a servicer, you have a problem, first time chaulk up to a fluke

I don't know if your dishwasher is the same as mine, but this solution may be what you need. For electronic panel dishwashers made by whirlpool (mine is a whirlpool but with a kenmore name on it), some of them can be reset by pushing in sequence the Heated-Dry button followed by the Normal-Wash button, several times in a row. that is... Push Heated-Dry, then Normal-Wash, Then Heated-Dry, then Normal-Wash... Repeat until all lights light up. When all lights light up you can stop. The washer will then take 5-10 minutes to go through a diagnostics cycle, which is about 18-25 steps or so. You can bypass one step at a time by pushing the STart button. This may not apply to your washer, but is pure gold if it does. Good Luck!
