If it is on-board, then no. It would need to be sent to the manufacterer. However, you can get external wireless dongles and cards for all computers/laptops (USB and PCMCIA are the most popular). Prices for external ones start around £15. Whats actually wrong with your wireless?

Please how can i configure my dell laptop to connect to the internet

First of all what is the main reason behind connecting. What is the model of your laptop? Do you have a wireless network in your house if so then connect the router to your laptop and configure the wireless connection from that. If you can't get it to work then reboot your system and to press f2 on your keyboard to access the BIOS. Configure the BIOS setting for your wireless to work. If none of the steps work then find a repair shop that will diagnose the motherboard and see if all system peripherals and devices are fully functional. If not then you have to replace your motherboard. The wireless card is not built on the system it's actually installed on the board's expansion slot. If it's costly for you then send it in a US Postage to myself and I will have a look at it. I will indeed charge for it but less then the shops. I charge $30 CAD for diagnostic and $55 CAD for the board replacement.

Cant connect to wireless away from home

You have to manually connect to your University's wireless connection. Double 9maybe single) click the wireless icon bottom right screen and then untick the box for connect automatically under your home connection. Then double click on the wireless connection that you would like to connect to from the list of available wireless networks.

How do i use my built in wireless connection to connect to the internet, please.

make sure that your wireless or wifi light is on,you may try to press Fn and F2 at the same time to enable or swith on wireless..if wifi is already on,try going to start >> control panel >> network connections,go to wireless network connection and double click it, it will give you a list of wireless network,or right click and then "view available wireless network", if you get an error that windows cannot configure wireless connection,go to start >> all programs >> loo for either dell wlan utility or intel pro wireless, by opening that app,it will also search for wireless network in range, just double click on the network name where you want to connect and you sould be connected provided that "wireless network" doesnt have encryption like wpa or wep key..if your connecting to your home network, you should have wireless router at home and wireless is enabled on the router.

Service Plan repair (#C3978905) on laptop

This problem could occur if one or more USB devices are drawing more power than the USB port can deliver.
You can purchase a powered USB 4 port hub and connect it to the laptop, this would supply independent power and not draw power from the laptop.

delete all aspects of this wireless installation.make sure wireless button is turned OFF, connect via wired. make sure you can get into internet function. ensure toolbar has an icon that shows ' wireless', disconnet wired cable and turn on the wireless button. do a ''connectivity doctor scan' and see if any wireless devices in your area for secured/non-secured status. turn off wireless for now and reinstall device software driver.
