Try to connect your camera to PC as a removable drive and format it.In some cases this was useful

How can I delete" write protected" and protected photos from sd card individually?

Unprotect them first, then you can delete them normally. See page 129 of the manual at http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/3/0300001393/01/eosrebelxs-1000d-im-en.pdf

If the memory card is protected, unprotect the card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

If this doesn't do it, try another card.

Have canon rebel xs , getting card write protected error

If this is a Canon Rebel XS there is no memory card in a 35mm film camera If this is a Rebel XSi then generally this error is caused by the memory card lock switch here is a diagram to show the correct orientation of this switch

Also after you have unlocked the card you should format the memory card in the camera it is going to be used in. Failing to do so may produce other errors and possibly corrupt pictures and files Formatting clean the memory card to produce optimum performance between the camera and card

When I try to take a picture on my rebel eos 450D, I get a "card write protected" message and I can't take pictures. How do I unprotect it?

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting the card from writing. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, try sliding it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Can't un-protect Images in My Canon Rebel XS

It sounds like the locking switch on the side of the SD card is in the "locked" position. Remove the card from the camera and slide the tiny switch on the card to the unlocked position. That should do it.
