i believe the stains are actually semi burn marks. If you are drying your whites try a lower heat setting. i had this problem with my kenmore dryer before too. Got bad especially with towels. Make sure your vent is not clogged and your filter is cleaned regularly to let the heat flow better. should help.
If it is just water then it could be OK. Most companies use a water stream to flush the bleach and also the fabric softener out of the dispenser systems and into the washer tubs. Some water left over is probably normal as long as the bleach or fabric softener has dispensed.
1.Remove the lint screen, which usually is located in the front of a Maytag dryer. Gently pull it up and out, and remove the lint with your fingers. 2. Use hot water and wet both sides of the lint screen. Use a nylon scrubbing brush and a little bit of liquid dish soap or laundry detergent to scrub the screen clean of lint and fabric softener buildup. Rinse both sides thoroughly with hot water. Towel dry and replace the lint screen when dry. Maytag states that owners should do this every six months. 3.Clean the exhaust every two years, as recommended by Maytag. Whoever installed your dryer had to install the exhaust vent. Unplug your dyer and unscrew the vent from the back of the dryer. Use a vacuum attachment or your hands to remove any clogged lint and replace. You may need to do the same thing to the other end that is attached to the wall. 4.Clean the dryer cabinet. According to Maytag, a professional should remove lint from the dryer cabinet every two years. This may be a good time to have him clean out the vents as well, rather than doing it yourself, if preferred. 5.Clean your lint screen on a regular basis. Maytag states that you should clean the lint screen with your fingers before using the dryer each time. Be sure to replace it all the way so it can work properly.
Clean the lint out of all air passages including the exhaust hose to the outside. Wash the lint filter in hot water and detergent to clean away fabric softener deposits which block air flow. Make sure that nothing is obstructing the air intake for the machine. If the problem continues, the heater thermostat may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!
when this happens, generally your vent is partially blocked. pull out the dryer, disconnect the vent pipe and visually inspect the back of the dryer and the vent all the way to outdoors, including the vent flap on the outside.
Inside the drum is 2 long metal trips that measure capacitance in the clothes as they get dryer. Sometimmes liquid fabric softener gets on them and stops the process. Wipe them off. They are right on the filter housing inside just below the filter.
