Reset will not delete songs

Restore will delete songs

Double-click My Computer - Double-click Ipod logo - Double-click music folder - start dragging tracks from that folder onto a folder/desktop of your choosing

Now you can restore in peace

It seems your ipod can't read the music your input, first, try to convert the music with audio ripper, don't forget to convert it to ipod format and drag to ipod throught itunes; after convert, if your ipod still can't read the songs, you can reinstall the itunes software.

SOURCE: how to transfer new music to my ipod without deleting the existing one

You have to use a software to retrieve all your music in ITunes.

The best is CopyTrans : http://www.copytrans.net/copytrans.php

So first backup your iPod with CopyTrans.

Secondly accept to wipe your iPod with iTunes. Sync it with iTunes and all your music will be back on your iPod.

After that, the message alert will disappear

My friends Ipod touch is a version 4.1 model MC540LL and it will not scroll down and to select a button it will outline in black then you have to double tap it to select. Can you help me without deleting...

If you restore it using Itunes that should fix any problems you have. but make sure you sync it first before you restore so that you don't lose any files.

to restore:
plug your ipod into computer.
Open itunes
click on your ipod in the list on the left
under the summary tab there should be a restore button, click that and follow directions.

hope that works :)

Brand new I-pod touch, forgot the screen lock password. is there a way to reset or recover it without having to restore the device?

According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the IPod, which will erase all music and data."

I want to erase music of my ipod nano

Go to itunes and click on a song that you want to delete and press the delete button on your keyboard and it will ask you if you are sure you want to delete this song from all playlists and off the ipod and click yes and it will delete. Unfortunately, it will not let you delete it from the ipod menu without connecting it to a computer.

Ipod nano locked

Restoring the iPod may do the trick. To do this, plug the iPod into your computer and when iTunes opens there should be a button under the iPod menu that says "restore". Doing this will also delete all the songs on the iPod, so you will have to reload all the music back onto it.
hopefully this helps!
