Question about Garmin GPS
OK, you know how to save your trailhead by touching your vehicle icon and saving the location. At this point you can also select GoTo to provide routing. Your standard 255WT database is for driving, so it is not going to have your trails or terrain data, but you can go to the settings, route options, and select direct rather than on-roads and it will draw a straight line to your trailhead. It is still a good idea to carry a compass & map with you, but you can get a good idea of which way you are going by walking and seeing where you are headed relavent to your course line. I like using the display set to "Track-up" for off-road, so the top of the display is the direction I am going. Some people prefer North Up, but that is disorienting for me.
