I have awtw6700tw1 with the noise when spin cycle will the bearing fit it .

If you are getting a noise like a jet taking off during the spin cycle you will need to replace the tub bearing. The bearing only comes with the tub assembly kit. It also includes the seals. Here is the tub kit to order.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Nice to see there are some A series washer still in service. Ok here goes on the what can cause this problem list.

1. The iiner wash tub.
a. Some one with small fingers needs to feel in between the outer tub cover and and the inner wash tub for missing chunks of the top of the wash tub ring. It is filled with concrete FYI. If the tub corroded and it tossed a bit of the top balance ring you will always have an off balance condition in the spin cycle.
b. Also grab the top of the inner wash tub and attempt to teeter just the inner wash tub. If it teeters there is a problem under the inner wash tub. This can be because of the mounting stem
item 24 of this link or the tub bearing Item 18 of the same link.
If the tub bearing is bad the outer wash tub can move indepently of the inner wash tub. The should move as one. Grab the agitator and press on 3 sides of the outer wash tub with opposing force and check for excessive moment. (FYI the mounting stem and tub bearing repairs ar not for the novice repair person.)

2. The CORK damper pads on the top of the machine base are worn. Item 22 this link: Pushing the outer wahs tub off center and against the cabinet should result in the outer wash tub retring to near center (within 2 inches as viewed from the top) If it does not return to near center there is a problem with the damper pads.

Here are my thoughts on your washer and what to consider. If your unit is in fair material condition and you do not have lots and LOTS of rust on the base I would repair it. Honestly this machine will outlast you if you have it "re-furbished" Refurbishment would be
A. New Tub Bearing
B. Mounting Stem
C. O-ring replaced on agitator shaft inside the transmission lower housing PN 2-10286
(^ ^ ^ ^ -- Must purchase transmission grease.
(there is the possibility that the Transmission drive gear would need replaced PN 2-10315)
D. Damper Pad Kit.
E. Motor mount spring and roller kit PN 2-5000
F. Both belts Items 18 and 19 this link:
G: Water injector kit.. No part number but still available.

I know this is probably a lot more information that you wanted but.. the bottom line is you own one of the "Cadillacs of Maytag." As long as the macine base and cabinet are in fair shape you can keep it in service with parts that are always available.

To fix your current problem it will show up when performing steps 1 and 2 at the top of the post. The unit will most likely have to have the inner and outer tubs removed to correct the problem and it involves about 2 hours of labor. You may have to find a very experienced repair person to have your unit re-furbished IF and I reiterate IF it ever comes to that.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Water leaks from the machine tub while it is in the wash cycle or turned off with water in the tub. I can empty the tub using the spin cycle without any leaking

you have bad tub seals. is there stains on the walls inside the washer and the water is leaking in the middle bottom of the tub?if the washer is old get a new washer, did one last week but the washer was in good condition it was close to 300 have to pull the agitator, remove the top ring, with a spanning tool you need to remove the center parts and pull the inner and outer tubs and the three nuts and bolts holding the outside tub on and replace the two pieces in the middle it's a bearing and a seal kit,but you need the tools to do it,like i said if the washer is old replace it or call someone in to do the job for you
