Double check the mode the carera is in to make sure you are not in manual mode. Most point and shoot digital cameras have an auto mode. Try putting the camera in auto mode to see if that helps. In manual mode you have to select the appropriate Fstop setting (how much light gets through the lens) and the shutter speed (how long the lens stays open during the shot).
Usually outdoor picture are good within small compact camera. They designed like that. But now your unit just have flash pcb defective. When flash function work, your picture will be good indoor.
Regarding your flash unit would be brown fuse or replacement of flash unit. It is 50 and 50 chance. Your local repair shop would charge around $35 to 95 depend on what they really want to charge.
Thanks and best regard!
this can be usually associated with your white balance in still camera mode.
Check to see your white balance is set correctly or just set it to auto. Also make sure the mode you are in it set. (ie. indoor, outdoor, auto, speed)
If you have tried using the auto setting and it is still doing the blurry pictures it sounds like a problem with your camera not the settings themselves.
This blog http://www.teleplancamerarepair.com/camera-repair-blog/post/Got-Blurry-Pictures-Blurry-Image.aspx suggests a couple of the reasons might be: "When your image appears distorted and with altered colors, in most of the cases there are two possible reasons: - The internal shutter gets stuck , does not open completely or - The image sensor is damaged.... "
i have the same exact problem with mine. it's two and a half years old as well. i also noticed that if you try taking pictures in any of the best shot modes the pictures come out looking like paintings.
