Have a Canon MF4150 Printer. The error light is flashing. The screen reads set paper again/set toner again. No paper jams are visible or obvious and believe me I have looked. The toner was replaced today, brand new one. The problem first showed up when there was a paper jam Paper jam removed. Help!

Does anyone have the user's manual for the Canon Imageclass MF4150. There is no general or service options on the menu on my printer. I also do not and cannot find the manual. Tried to find it on line but ended up purchasing tickets to a floor show in WhoKnew Where, Alberta..Help please.

There is nothing in the printer. It has been examined thoroughly. The cartridge removed, removed again and again. There is something else causing the error light to flash.??

The sensors are fooled into thinking that the toner cartridge is not present. The solution is to take all the paper out and reload the paper. I did this and found a single sheet of paper caught up in the paper feed path. I removed that page then turned the printer off and back on.

Try removing the cartridge and see if there are piece of paper inside or any material inside that would trigger the sensor.

Normally you will need to let the printer know that you have preformed any maintenance on it by clearing the error count after such an error occurs and is fixed it is normally listed under general or service options on the printer menu but you may need to look through the users manual

hope this helps

Hmm that is very bad indeed. Have you tried simply unplugging the printer from the power source for at least 10 minutes, then replugging it in to see if the errors persist? These errors just came out of the blue one day, nothing changed or happened to the machine? No power surges / outages or anything like that?

Thanks
Tim

Yikes, when removing the paper jam something could have become damaged with the actual rollers... hard to say for sure. Hopefully the reset will get it back to working, the unplug I mean...

    Let me know!

You can try taking out the toner and looking at the alignment of everything in there, pressing in on all rollers and everything. Especially press in on the areas where the paper was jammed and try jostling around the rollers, it can't get any worse at this point...

How old is this printer? Did you happen to buy it with a major credit card? (Not a debit card though... only credit card) There is a good chance it may still be under the free
extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please
contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they
will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the printer.

    Thanks

Red light

Error Red On

• The cover is open. Close the cover.
• There is no paper in the tray. Load paper in the tray.
• The printer has stopped printing due to a major error.
• The toner cartridge is not installed. Install the toner cartridge.
• Your system has some problems. If this problem occurs, contact your service representative.
• The toner is totally exhausted. Remove the old toner cartridge and install a new one.

Error Red Blinking

• A minor error is occurring and the printer is waiting for the error to be cleared. When the problem is cleared, the printer resumes printing.
• The toner cartridge is low. Order a new toner cartridge. You can temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the toner.

This error means that the paper is not loaded properly, or the toner cartridge is not set. You need to load paper correctly. For details, see Load Paper on your manual. Set the toner cartridge in the machine. For details, see Install Toner Cartridge of your manual as well. Hope this helps.

I have a Samsung ML-2525 BW laser printer. Recently, the red bar second from the top started flashing and then it went solid. I thought this was because of the ink toner, and the cartridge was running low...

I guess it FixYa didn't accept my (very long, but totally correct) solution that I took the time to type. Because I refused to "sign in".
Here's the short version. Load Paper. The same thing happened to me. I replaced the toner cartridge with a new one (because of a FLASHING red light for several weeks) after the red light went to STEADY red. But it still would not print. The paper was "out". When I'd refilled the paper-tray, it printed fine. I had just ASSUMED that the steady-red light meant toner was finally OUT. WRONG! That steady-red light had nothing-to-do with toner; it meant "you're out-of-paper". Don't get confused like I did. Refill the paper-tray. Then take that expensive NEW toner cartridge OUT, and put the OLD toner cartridge back in. And keep using the "dregs" of the toner out of the old cartridge for several more weeks. And DON'T get confused by the paper-is-out condition making that red light STEADY.

HP Laserjet M1522nf - displaying an "install black cartridge"

this error can be caused by a paper jam, or a little piece of paper in the toner area, Take the cartridge out and use a flashlight to check in the sides looking for paper. Other reason is that sometimes the sensor that detect the toner is out of place and in that case you can try to power cycle with the toner out before you install it again. Good luck

Keeps showing J1 error, toner light is flashing

The J1 error means the toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Since you just replaced the cartridge, you should remove the cartridge and repeat the following steps.. Shake the new toner cartridge horizontally four or five times and then remove the cover. Slide the new toner cartridge in until it locks in place. It sounds like the cover may still be on the cartridge.

The red attention indicator light and the toner indicator light are both flashing together

ON your driver check that the paper size is correct and this most commonly occurs when the incorrect paper size is selected. For example if you are printing to A4 and you have letter size installed in the machine then the system will cause an error or jam when there is nothing there.

Also within word or which ever program you are using on the document goto file and then down to page setup once in there check the paper size make sure it's correct for the paper in your machine also check the paper source. Once you have done this check the paper tray guides are correctly against the paper turn on and try printing and hopefully this will work.

Thanks J
