The full replaement color cartridges for this printer only print 1,400 pages @ 5% coverage. If you are speaking of the starter cartridges (the ones that came with the printer) they only have about half of that. If you print with this machine in full color mode, which is the default, it counts developer revolutions even if you only print b&w. If this is a purchased toner cartridge you are speaking of, you can reset the flag gear on the side of the cartridge in order to get more prints out of it, put the print quality may not be good. To extend the life of the color cartridges when you are only printing b&w, set the printer properties to print in "graysale" or "monochrome" under preferences. When you try to print a document, in the dialog box next to the printer name click preferences. Look on all of the tabs for one of the selections I mentioned and select it. This is an expensive cost per page printer, and you may not want to use it for all of your prints. It may be adviseable to get a cheap monochrome only printer for your b&w needs and only use this brother machine for your full color prints.

I've gotten the "replace toner" message with a brand new, genuine Brother, cartridge. I even took back the new toner to the store and asked for a replacement, and the problem persists. Must be a software error. How else can you explain my printer settings showing 100% toner level and yet still refusing to print unless I replace the toner? While I have heard of people overriding the sensors to extend the life of their toner my problem is unique because the toner level is actually fine.

Hp c6180 states cartridges missing or damaged

OK now this might seem bizarre, but did you go ahead and click the "Black Only" print option?

I have a C6180. Just installed all new cartridges. Tried to print and got the message that Cyan is empty. Tried all sorts of things. Then out of frustration clicked the Black Onl option. Document came out printed in color! Double checked with a picture that has lots of cyan colors. It all printed too! Go figure.

More than likely the magenta cartridge is bad unless you have run a lot of magenta copies or prints and exhausted it.

If you are running an apple computer they do not always interperate themessages correctly from a Xerox printer.
You can fix that by making ABSOLUTLEY certain you have the right print driver installed!!!
Been there done that.

Magenta not printing properly. How do I clean the

There are no nozzels in a laser printer.
You likely need to replace the magenta toner.
A genuine cartridge runs about $50 and a generic replacement is about $20
Just make sure that the toner you get is for the CLP-300 and not some other printer!

I replaced an ink cartridge because the printer stopped working and showed a message that the old cartridge is empty. However after putting the new one in but the printer still refuses to work and shows...

maybe the cartridge is wrong, release it and clean the electrical contacts, put them again one by one, if notting happen, try this
Solution As the printer operates, it moves ink from the ink cartridges into a printhead reservoir. The printer does not deliver a message when an ink cartridge goes empty, because it still has ink in the reservoir. The printer continues printing until the ink level in the reservoir falls to a first trigger point - then a message appears advising the printer owner to Replace Cartridges Soon . At this point, other cartridges that are empty but have not reached the trigger point are also mentioned in the message, to save trips to the retailer. After the first trigger point, the printer can continue printing until ink levels in the reservoir reach a second trigger point. At the second trigger point there is only enough ink left to perform vital servicing tasks, and a new message appears, saying Ink Cartridges Empty . The options offered depend on the usable inks remaining. If no options are offered, the cartridges indicated must be replaced before printing can continue. The Ink Cartridges Empty options are described in the table below: Ink colors out Option Print mode possible All Cancel None Black

AND

Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all) Black only Continue with other colors Cyan/Magenta/Yellow mode (composite black)

Text and photo quality will differ from those printed when all colors are available Light Cyan or Light Magenta (either or both) Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all)

(Black still available) Print with black ink only Grayscale

PRINTER (not web camera!) HP Deskjet 712c Printer began printing mostly blackPrinter began printing mostly black & magenta so I replaced the color cartridge. Color did not improve and then black...

First run the CLEAN HEADS and see if that helps. If you don't use your printer at least once a week the Print Heads get dried out and will not allow the ink to pass through to the paper.
Go to control Panel and click on Printess. Then when the window comes up, CLICK on Properties TAB and then in the next window, CLICK on CLEANING.
You may have to replace your PRINT HEAD if that doesn't work.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

Wont print with all new ink cartridges

If the error message is only "magenta/cyan low", it doesn't cause any error. The low message stays after replacing ink cartridges if they're replaced too early (before they're indicated as actually empty), it doesn't cause the printer to not work.
However, some other problem might be faulty, or there might be another error message. Try emptying printer queue and print from Ink Management -> Menu/set (twice) to check wether the problem is with communication from pc or if the printer actually is unable to print.

Says there is more than one magenta cartridge installed

Try replacing the cartridges one by one, one at a time to find out which cartridge is causing this problem. May be there is a magenta chip on one of the othercartridges.

Can I print "Black only on the Epson BX 300 F ?

Since the printer insists on having all 4 cartridges (non-empty) fitted before it will print anything, the only recourse to fitting new cartridges is to fool the printer into thinking your empty magenta cartridge has ink in it. You can do this by using a cartridge resetting tool to reset the magenta cartridge chip so it reads "full". A resetter tool can be obtained from e-bay very cheaply (£4 or less). You will find sellers who ship worldwide on E-Bay UK.

Be aware though, that if you forget to select monochrome printing, the colour ink is also used in black printing - and printing with a "dry" cartridge can damage the print head. You can guard against this by filling your magenta cartridge with distilled water.

You will also find sellers of magenta cartridges (and the others of course) on E-Bay UK who ship worldwide.

There is not clean cartrige button.
If you want you can try to remove the cartridge and clean it with a paper towel, and see if that helps get you to 300 more sheets, if not I would replace it.

Empty ink cartridge message

I replaced the old cartridge with a new one (Magenta) and it still asks me to replace it with a new cartridge.
For 1 colour which is LOW, it stopped me completely from PRINTING or COPYING at all.
Any clues how to fix this?
