I am trying to install my new cd changer. I have power to the unitand it is grounded. I keep getting Error-99 when trying to play a cd in it. I have tried different cds, checked voltage on the wires, and pressed the reset button several times. Can you help me? The users manual is useless on the error codes.

e-99 indicates that there is some type of mechanical jam, the microprocessor requires reset, or the system had some major failure. try to remove power from the system for a few moments, and then reconnect. this will rest the microprocessor and possibly restore function. if there's a disc stuck in the magazine, or stuck somewhere in the loading or unloading sequence, it's sometimes possible to free this but the changer will have to be removed from the vehicle and partially disassembled.
It means that the CD changer is malfunctioning. Mostly happends after
condensation, due to it's location near the taillight. Go in the back,
clean any moisture, take out the CD, and re-insert it. Problem should
be solved. Audi should put this as one of the most common defects
between the 99-03 a6
hey, i just found one of these in my garage and im trying to connect mine too.. I found out what the wires do...
black(ground) - any metal part of the car red (remote) - to a wire that gives 12v+ when ignition is on. Yello (power) - 12v+ source, just connect this wire straight from + on the battery. Read this manual for more info....
