I have a jade controls j81 , and its full of water, gas is on with a full tank, the heater flame comes on for abou 1 maybe 2 minutes then it shuts off i can relight it once or twice, then thats it i have...

Hi Larry. I am also working with my Jade J81 with varying success. I think I once solved the problem you are describing! I think the pilot flame is too weak! THere is an adjustment screw hidden behind the threaded cover cap marked "PILOT ADJ". Turn that slightly counter clockwise and the flame will increase. If the flame does not respond much, then remove the entire module with the thin pilot gas pipe and ensure the front part is clean and free from dirt.
I have another question to anyone that may know! There is also an adjustment marked "VENT"! What is that? What functions does it have in the system? Thanks. Fredrik

I have a 1993 fleetwood bounder i have had it for two months. i just got around to the propane appliances but there is no propane flowing to the stove or the furnace. the tank is turned all the way on but...

Ok, Lets start at the beginning. First make sure there is propane in the tanks! Gas can leak rom these tanks sometimes at a very small rate and over time they can go empty if there is a loose fitting somewhere. When you turn on the stove is there any air or hissing sounds coming from the burners? Air can get in the lines and when you turn the gas on, you get nothing but air for several seconds till the air bleeds out then you get the gas. Hold a lit match next to the burner and watch to see if there is any movement to the flame on the match, movement would let you know if there is any air coming from the burner, hold it there for a few seconds and see if any gas comes thru and this will then lite the burner. I always have to turn my stove on for a while to get gas thru the lines so the appliances work after the tanks have been filled or after it sits for a while. Once you get gas thru to the stove you can try your heater, this may also take sewveral tries till all the air is purged from the lines so don't get frustrated, sometimes this can take a while! Then the next thing is the water heater, the gas valve on these has a selection for pilot lite, turn the red knob so thet the cut out in the knob lines up with the gas valve and you have to push and hold this down for a minut or longer to get gas to the burner. Once the burner lights hold the pilot knob down for another minute to make sure all the air is out of the system. Once these are done you should be good to go till next time your tank runs dry and has to be filled. If you determine there is gas in the tank but it is not flowing to the appliances, double check all the shut off valves. The tank should have a diagram on the valve to let you know which way it turns for on and off. Do you have a built in tank on this model? If you have the two removable tank set up, make sure the auto switching valve is set correctly and you have it on to the tank that is full. If you still aren't getting gas, try calling an RV dealer and ask them if there is another valve somewhere that might need to be turned on. There migt be a shut off in the line somewhere, but this is not common.

My hot water heater won't engage at all.

Sounds like the pilot light is not staying lit, provided you have one. The pilot light is used to keep the gas valve open by way of the thermocouple/switch. When the pilot light goes out the thermocouple cools down and shuts the supply of gas off to the water heater burner. It is not unusual for a thermocouple to go bad at which point it needs to be replaced. The thermocouple is the small rod that sits in or close to the pilot light flame. There is a small copper tube that runs from it up to the gas valve on the outside of the tank. This is where you control the temperature of the water as well as light the pilot light. If you are not experienced in dealing with hot water heater gas supplies, you should get professional help.

Pilot lite is lit but when thermostat is turned up, nothing happens

The regulator normally has three settings: Off, Pilot, Heat (or similar).
Make sure it has been advanced to the heat setting after lighting the pilot.

Inter-mittent fault

your vacuum has a thermo heat switch that will shut off the power as a safety feature the motor is over heating and the switch is being tripped, take it to your local shop and have it checked its either a blockage or you need to have the motor replaced, Don the Vacuum Doctor Alb,N.M.

On my kenmore central vac no power unplug unit plug it back green light comes on but try turning vac on green light goes off again .

Please clarify that we are talking about the central vac LED/switch panel panel and plugging it into a 110 V wall receptacle.
If I understand when you unplug from the power source ,then plug back in the green LED comes on, looking normal ? But when you manually activate the switch on the motor housing of the vac itself the vac does not start and the LED goes out, so no green or red LED at that point?
If this is the case , Kenmore CV's built approx 5 years ago (MADE by EUREKA) and prior had a circuit board with attached cord (as opposed to detachable) which was prone to relay failure. There were several symptoms, most common was that the relay on that switch panel /circuit board would fuse on and the vac would continue to run when the hose was detached from the wall. However some I worked on from that era had exactly the same symptom you describe. If your unit is between 5 and 10 years old and this sounds accurate, you can unscrew this curved side panel relay with one philips screw. Inside on the PCB will be an L shaped black or white 24volt relay, generally rated at 10 amps. The replacement board or relay will be rated at least 24V/ 15 amps or more. If you can isolate your motor and test it separtely with a power cord or meter , the realy/board will be the only control componnet left.
If you have a small tipped soldering IRON, not a gun, you can generally find a replacement relay to rebuild the board for about $6 at an electronics parts store. Otherwise you will need to replace the control board itself, anywhere form $45 to $70 plus service call if you have a tech come out to the house, and the tech will just unscrew , detach wires and replace the board, no repair , approx 15 minutes work. This will likely cost over $100.

If the filters are ok, and there is no clog in the hose or dirt inlet down by the brushroll, then the motor protector is probably bad.
