Hi,
1.You can defragment. This option will check for the free space and makes your computer little speed.
Go to drive which you need to defragment > Right click > Properties > Tools > Defragment
2.Go to Run > Type %temp% >It opens a page delete all the files in it.These are the temporary files created when you go to internet.
Thank You

Check the free disk space on the system drive (usually drive C:). If it is too low, then try freeing up some disk space on C: drive.
You could also try to defrag drive C:

You can access C: drive through Computer in Windows Vista/7, or My Computer in Windows XP.

How can I speed up my computer?

How long ago was Windows installed? Over time, the system will get slower. This is not unusual. It may be time to backup all your data and re-install Windows as a fresh build. This will improve things significantly. Depending on what hardware specs you are running, this could be impacting performance as well. Vista was always heavy on resources.

What do I need to do to speed up my Dell E1505 Laptop, it's running slow

A slow Dell laptop can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload start up programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do the job manually, try the Dell speed up solution available here: http://www.speedupslowdell.com/ best regards!

How do i speed up my wifi?

There're a number of ways to "broaden" your Broadband Wi-Fi link.

(a) move laptop closer to the Wireless Router, and/or remove signal obstructions between laptop and Wireless Router.

(b) move the Wireless Router to a channel other than the default (channel 6).
HOW: login to the Router management pages at 192.168.1.1, and change it.

(c) upgrade your Wireless-G router to Wireless-N (with the Linksys WRT310N you've aready done that, however).

(d) Switch from Wi-Fi to hardwired with a Cat 5e ethernet cable - you'll have better throughput and fewer CRC errors with a hardwired link.

(e) Recognize that 99% of the time the upload/download speed bottleneck is not the Broadband link, but the computer laptop system itself, so the best way to increase the speed of your Wi-Fi link is to optimize the computer system. Normally, increasing the physical link speed is wasted time and money - something those Verizon FIOS commercials will never tell you.

Put your money into upgrading RAM and running fewer startup group processes eating into system virtual memory (SWAPFILE.SYS) space.

If you can access only trusted web sites (typical of a workplace workstation), then you can optimize browser operation by eliminating Real-Time Anti-Virus shields such as: (File System Shield) scan on open, (File System Shield) scan on write, HTTP shield, Network shield, suspicious behavoir shield, Script Shield, and IM Shield. This will help to optimize your browser's activities. Web browser software is well known to be among the least efficient software ever devised. The typical user will have half a dozen Browser Extensions, and a dozen or more Browser Plug-ins, each further burdening an already over-burdened Browser. Most Users don't even know how many Browser Extensions and Plug-ins they're running, and inadvertently permit new ones to be installed daily.

Consider upgrading your laptop's CPU, rolling back from Windows 7 to Windows XP, and changing Operating Systems from a Microsoft Windows OS to Linux. Also consider using an Apple MacBook.

Lastly, perform a security scan on your system - nothing wrecks a laptop's performance faster than a virus/worm/trojan horse/rootkit/malware/spyware/tracking cookies/supercookies, etc.

Has become extremely SLOW? I've run Norton 360 tune-up with no improvement. What's the deal?

I personally like and use Avast Free AntiVirus. A virus could be slowing you down greatly.

I also like Ccleaner (.com for the website) which cleans out old cookies, files and junk that will slow your computer down.

I also would recommend you do a defragmentation and disk cleanup.

I like to do all the things above to keep my E1505 running good.

First thing I would do is take the desktop outside and clean it out with two cans of compressed air.

HEAT can really slow a machine down. Let me know if that makes a difference (good to do either way) and we'll go from there.

Computer very slow. just switched to att. supposed to be at the fastest speed. I defraged, deleted cookies, nothing has helped. help/

You don't give much information, but the number one cause I have seen for slow computers is a hard drive nearing capacity. Windows (the hog) needs lots of room for swap files and gets very slow when it does not have enough room. Next speed inhibitor is too little ram. If you give more information, perhaps someone can help determine where your problem lies. We could use hardware information (processor, ram, hard drive and OS information). I hope this helps you determine what is causing your problem.

Dell pc to slow

Yes, you can get (any) help. You must run a Registry Cleaner. It will clean your Windows registry which seems to be having irrelevant entries. You can down load one free from www.download.com or you can search google for free registry cleaners. I had the same problem and my laptop used to take over 20 mins to boot. I cleaned it with one RC and now it gallops like a new laptop. I do not think that you have any hardware problem.
