Hello, the first thing i would recommend you to do is listen to machine, if you hear the machine clicking, the sound is rythmic, sorry, it does not carry a beat, but the noise is not normal, if you do hear the noise then yes your printer is broken. if you have lower tray, check to see if your jamming from that tray, you can clean both feed rollers for both trays, and try again, if document feed jam, check to see if something tore in the paper guide.
