This is a good time to remind everyone that you should not leave fuel in equipment that is not used on a very regular basis. More than likely your carburetor is gummed up from the old fuel. This can happen in less than 30 days much less 2 years.
To properly clean a carburetor you need to remove the carburetor and purchase the correct kit for the rebuild. Disassemble the
carburetor carefully making notes where each part goes. Once you have the carburetor disassembled clean it by soaking it in carburetor cleaner for a few hours. Use anned aerosol automotive carb spray cleaner to fill a small glass jar with enough cleaner to submerge the carburetor. Use a jar with a metal lid so you can gently agitate the solution occasionally to make the process more effective. You need to allow the carburetor to soak as long as it needs to remove all visible deposits. After the carburetor is cleaned allow it to dry and reassemble.

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

SOURCE: engine is not pulling fuel to carb/ will run

I have this problem with my John Deere each spring.
The fuel pump is old enough that it no longer pulls the fuel through
Try this
Disconnect the fuel line from the carb
use a vacuum pump if you have one or **** the fuel through to the carb
Reattach the fuel line to the carb and see if this solves your issue.
Once I get fuel through the pump on mine it runs for the entire season no worries
Let me know

Weedeater gbi 22 leaf blower will not start, how do I start it and what could be the cause?

Replace the spark plug, drain last years fuel and use fresh fuel mix.

Sounds like you may have a fouled plug. A speck of carbon or other debris can short the gap causing ZERO runtime.

Husqvarna 28cc weedeater primed x3...choked and starts.... runs 30 seconds DIES.

This sounds like a fuel starvation problem. These units use temperamental little diaphragm carburetors which can develop assorted ills and problems. Sometimes, the problems stems from debris in the carb, fuel tank, fuel filter, or inside the carb where there is another very fine filter. You have stated that it runs 30 seconds, but I don't know if it is IDLING for that period or running at speed for that period. At any rate, check the in-tank fuel filter, ALL fuel lines, and if you can remove the fuel pump cover on the carb (it does NOT have a vent-hole), and check inside where the little round fine wire mesh screen is. Check it for debris.
If all the above are OK, then the carb may just require a small adjustment. The problem here being the type of screws used to adjust the Low and High speed mixtures on the carb. Some have splined heads, some have Pac-Man shaped heads, some have D shaped heads, and some have Double D shaped heads. Older ones have conventional slotted screw heads. On the non-conventional ones, you can use automotive type wire terminal spade connectors. Before you put them on though, you need to note the exact position of the mixture screw you are going to adjust. After that, tap the connector onto the head of the screw. If you use a female spade connector (22 gauge or so), then the end of a small flat blade screwdriver will fit the spade and you can turn the screw. I will refer you to an excellent Zama (probably your carb) carburetor adjusting tutorial now.

Weedeater gbi 20 leaf blower will not start, how do I start it and what could be the cause?

Start procedure is, switch igbition on, lever to full choke, pull until it fires once, do not continue pulling with full choke, move choke to central position, crank engine until it runs, once warm move choke to off, if it refuses to start, drain the fuel tank and re fill with fresh mix, remove spark plug and check for a spark by earthing the plug against the cylinder, if after many pulls the spark plug is dry, there is a blockage in the carb, remove the air filter cover, remove the two allen screws holding the carb on, remove the single screw securing the alloy pump cover, under the diaphram is a filter, replace this filter, rebuild and try again.

Simple solution your weed-eater has a Walbro carb buy a rebuild kit and rebuild the carb and it will run like new, don't touch any screw settings on the carb. You can purchase from your local repair center just give them the number on your carb and they will give you the correct kit. Go to smalleng.com they have a video on just this issue. Good Luck.. Don't forget thumbs and feedback.

My weedeater leaf blower never gets up to its' old speed. Runs about 1/2 the power. Tried a new spark plug and air filter. New gas didn't help.

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
- aluminum or silver - piston/cylinder scored
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Compression - 125 to 150 psi

3) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
5) replace gaskets/diaphragms

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

Youwill need to disassemble the carburetor and spray withcarb.cleaner.Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should beable to see daylight through it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. check the primer bulb for pin holes and seating/sealed properly. if that doesn't work have the carb repaired at a service center or replaced.
