How to replace a 2000 HR Endeavor "over the range microwave oven"

Dear Support,

I have a 2000 HR Endeavor and I need to replace the "over the range microwave oven" with a new one, but I can't figure out how to remove the old one that is now in place.

Do you know where I could find any old blue prints or drawings that show how the current microwave is held in place and how to remove it?

The model is a Sharp Over the range microwave oven R-1850A

The problem we are having is that when we push on the tuch start on switch, the oven refuses to respond. Once in a great while it will work fine but most of the time it just refuses to turn on. If there is a new circut board that could be replaced, that would be great. However, it looks to me like I need to replace the whole thing. But before I install a new one I have to first get the old one out and this is what I can't figure out how to do.

    Thanks, glenn

I can't figure out how to remove my old Sharp over the range microwave. I thought it should be attached to the cabinet above, but it's not. It seems to just be hanging from a bracket. How do I get it off?

It sounds like you may have a bad keypad or (hopefully) a simple door switch failure.

When you press Start, if it does not beep, then either the door open switch is bad (not very likely) or its mount is bad, or your membrane keypad is failing.

If it beeps when press Start, and your fan and inside light come on and it counts down, but the turntable doesn't turn and it doesn't cook, then you have a bad secondary interlock (lower door switch with white and gray wires) or its mount is broken or loose.

You can try gently pushing up and down on the door while trying to hit Start. That will sometimes make it try to work.

For this model, neither the control panel frame with keypad nor the separate membrane key sheet is is available, but the key sheet from a different colored model may still be available. I can check into that further if you want.

Door switches are pretty easy to get. They are often held in place by a little tab on the underside of the mount. That can be hard to reach, but not too bad if you're careful.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:

We have the service manual for this model and I can e-mail to you.

If you'd like us to install the keypad, we can do it for $39.95 plus parts.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

Please contact me directly and I'll also send you installation info on several Sharp models. That should give you enough info in case you decide to remove it.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Need a over the range microwave with height of 14"

The first thing I'd do is contact the manufacturer of the old oven and ask if they have a current "drop-in" replacement model to replace your old one's model number.

Otherwise, you'll have to visit various manufacturer Web sites and dealers to check out their specifications.

66993 pizza oven microwave oven combo pizza oven not heating error code f1 microwave part works

Hello, please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal check sum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

How much is the cost for a new Household Microwave Oven (Danby)

To replace your model of Danby.... costs around $90 bucks. To fix ur Danby if its broken.... $65/hr service charge (minimum) plus parts.... We are in the disposable society, sad... but its cheaper to throw ur microwave away unless u know the basics to fix it ... like a fuse replacement. Otherwise,.. just go out and buy a new one.

2000 HR Endeavor "over the range microwave oven"

It may be a loose or broken door switch mount or possibly a bad switch.

I have attached (via e-mail) our safety, disassembly & door switch files.

Essentially you make sure it's *unplugged*, then remove the outer cover.

Then you can see inside behind the control panel where the door latches go into the chassis.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door hooks latch when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Other times, it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

Just opening and closing the door a few times while observing closely will show you where the problem is.

I stock these switches and I can send you one for $6.00, or you can get one from a local appliance parts store, or some hardware stores and home centers like Home Depot or Lowe's.

Once you've looked all this over, please let me know if I can help further.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
