Question about Freezers
I have a sister who purchased an 05/2007 Holiday chest freezer, Model #LCH0501PW as of last year. (She resides in Alaska, and has minimal access to qualified help) She purchased this at a local home improvement outlet. There was a minor power surge in her area and her freezer went on the fritz. Could this be a burned motor, or is there the possibility that the unit may have a built-in circuit breaker to prevent this? Seems next to impossible to find a shcematic as this is a very inexpensive model.
I have this same model. It quit working 18 months after purchase during a house move. It would get cold and then quit with the power light on. I'm replacing the thermostat and the start relay/load protetion parts. That seems to be the problem. $50 total. Finding parts has been nearly impossible as no one recognizes the model # or brand.
