Install IPL for casio cash register te-8500. the version is 1.50 now, and i need to downgrade it to 1.42. I got the ipl, while install it, "error 2 massage comes up.

im several time face to this problem. i think this is common error.
turn on machine

then open the printer cover
open the battery cover
remove battery one by one
then machine display NO BATTERY
then put battery again one by one
then machine goes to the mulfunction.
display ***MRS***
turn off machine and turn on it
didnt came to normal condition press CL KEY.

thats over

but ua data is totaly lost you have to put all your data again

press CL key ,didnt change display,

when power on & remove your batteries one by one
then replace batteries again one by one

display **** MRS *************** and press CL key

then machine came normal condition

but your data is lost.

Can you read the CF card on a computer successfully? Do you have the IPL in the root of the CF card? It sounds like the IPL may be corrupted or not compatible with your register. Do you have an alternative IPL you can try?

You have halted the firmware due to a failure to load IPL. This is recoverable if you do a hard reset. See your service and programming manuals for hard reset and IPL instructions. Make sure you have the correct IPL and loader for your region. If you don't need to replace the IPL then do not attempt it

Why were you trying to change the IPL? If you didn't have the new IPL and flashing software, you may have lost the firmware. Do you have the dealer IPL flashing software?

Try your local community college data processing department. They can probably tell you where to get the software. You might also try some business based web groupds for an answer. Or you could look on eBay for a working replacement which may cheaper and quicker than the other option.

Need help.... I reached the point where the register read IPL 0000 and I could not find any way to get out of this mode. So, I just pulled the plug. Now plugging the register back in, it does nothing and...

This is a communication error. There are two thpes os serial cable. You are using a straight thru cable you need a "null modem cable or you will get no communication. Confirmed. our serial cable needs to be a crossover "null Modem" type if I remember correctly. you probably have a straight through cable which wont work. Also make sure you are using the correct port number for your serial converter (often port 4). Check it in device manager.

Oh dear. Why are you wiping the IPL? You are seriously screwing up the firmware in the machine. It might be best to see a dealer to have them change IPLs for you

I have a problem with the Casio te-2200, the error IPL E02 displays on the and keyboard keys do not work, can anyone advise.

Oh dear. The IPL is the operating system, or firmware of the machine. It may end up needing a new IPL loaded into it. I have never had an IPL error without a good reason. However, you can try the basic things first. Open the cover on the side of the machine, and you will see the socket(s) for connecting PC, scanner etc. Also in there is a small hole (it may have a piece of tape over it). Inside the hole is a little button. Put something gently in the hole (while turned on), and press the button. The screen should change to show 'init' or '000000000' or both.
Now, turn power off at wall.
Turn the key to PROGRAM or PGM mode
Turn on power at wall.
When you see the display change to 'FFFFFFFFFFF' let go of RECEIPT FEED, then press SUBTOTAL.
If the display does not change to 'FFFFFFFFFFF' then DO NOT press SUBTOTAL, just leave the machine, and message me again.

If all went well, turn back to REG mode, and try it.

Hi. IPLs can be tricky. Why do you need to load a new IPL? Is your scale one that is supported by the register? I would need to know everything you have tried. Also, don't forget, you must flag clear when you change any I/O settings, or they will not take effect.

With the power switch off, hold down the RECEIPT FEED button and turn the register on.

Continue to hold the button until white text shows up on the screen.

Release the button and press the SUB-TOTAL button.

When the register asks "1. Flag Clear / 2. Something Else", select "1. Flag Clear" and press yes.

This is the Casio ECR equivalent of CTRL-ALT-DEL; it should fix the printer-cycling issue.
