Printer is paused wont restart

it may be that you have a corrupt file in the print queue, a quick fix is possible - switch the power socket OFF, disconnect the PC/Network connections.
power on the printer, it should have had time to clear the memory now, see if the machine is able to print a menu page or config sheet ( open menu enter the information menu- print config sheet:)
if the printeris able to do thiswith no network connections you have eliminated the printer from the problem. next switch on and log into your PC, still disconnected from printer, open print queue and delete all documents from the queue ( your not deleting the files ( just the print requests)) once this is done then reconnect the printer and send first a windows test page ( confirm working connections first ) then attempt to print the failed file - if it fails in the same manner - the file was your problem.

Sometimes when I print .pdf file the computer request me put the file name instead of printing

this happens when you have selected a PDF printer instead of the real Physical Printer for printing

a PDF printer is a software which converts any thing sent out like a document or file for printing into a PDF file tis is useful for saving data from files or majorly from websites and emails as a softcopy on your system.

next time on, when printing check to see that the selected printer on default is a Physical Printer (like HP or Cannon etc.) connected to your computer and you'll have your hard copies

hope could be of help, cheers

Will not print photo. Asks for card. Need to print from computer, not from photo card. It has worked in the past.

You just have to send the print request from the computer, if you press the photo button on the printer it will always tell you to insert the card. It knows how to print when it's sent a print request.

I have attached the HP 4255 officejet with my computer and want to send the file directly from my computer via fax. how i can send directly without geting print . mubashir@ellahifabrics.com

Well, you'll need a modem to send a fax. Either that, or an online faxing service. Your printer / scanner is only intended to either print files, or scan hard copies into files that can then be printed (or faxed). The printer itself does not fax.

Might I suggest the following online fax service, free of charge:
http://faxzero.com/

There are plenty of others.

Try these steps.

Connect the parallel

printer.
The cable is not
connected correctly.
Reconnect the cable.
An incorrect printer driver
is selected.
Select the correct printer driver.
Other devices are
connected to the parallel

Disconnect the other devices and try again
to print.
There is an LPT port

Reset the computer port settings. See your
computer user guide for instructions.
The formatter has failed. Replace the formatter.

Hope these help

A new router, recognizes the printer (HP Photosmart) and still won?t print from a distant location on the network.

I?m not sure about this one, but I think you should make sure there?s permission to access (share) the printer in the router and/or printer settings. If the printer is connected directly to the router, check if it?s in the right port and you?re not sending a print request to a different port. If that doesn?t help try to set it to another port in the router.
