Try to change the resolution of the output from the computer to 1920x1080 if your tv is a full hd tv.you can do that by going to control panel display settings if you have pc for mac click on apleicon on top left corner and go to system preferences where you can find display preferences which will help you to change screen resolution.
if your pc and tv has an hdmi port connect the tv and computer via hdmi cable

42" LG lcd tv has sound but no picture

Hello, If there is a complete darkness on the screen, it is likely that the problem is on the card that responsible for providing backlight to the screen. Known as invertor. Sometimes the causes are: 1 loose contacts across the card. 2 the main ic that is number begins with OZ .3 More rarely missing of the 24V voltage that provided to the invertor, in this case you should check the power supply. I hope it was helpful!

Let me know if more help is needed.

Picture outside of screen limits

I have Time Warner Cable and just FIXED this problem. On the cable box remote, there is a button with the word "Aspect" on it. On my particular remote, this is the "#" button (pound symbol) and by pressing that button, it gives you options of "Zoom 1", "Zoom 2", "Stretch" and "Normal". By setting it to "Normal", it completely solved the problem. Oh and by the way, my t.v. is the LG 47" flat screen LCD. Hope this helps the other frustrated folks out there.

Screen does not fill completely

The most obvious answer would be to try the "ratio" button on your remote. This will cycle through the different aspect ratios so you can find one that suits you.

Hi,

I am assuming that your post refers to enlarge desktop display when you connect the LG LCD to a PC.

If yes, initially, pls try increasing the screen resolution of your PC. This can be done at the Display Properties/Settings tab and then move the slider of the Screen resolution towards the right, Apply OK. In some instances, you may need to also move up the Screen refresh rates in the Monitor tab of the Advanced Properties.

If your concern has not been corrected after completion of the above procedures, then other methods can be considered.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FIXYA.
