Question about Bosch Dishwashers

1 Answer

Bosche dishwasher serial no, SGS 456 . The machine won't admit water, but it makes all the washing sounds

This solution may be helpful in general to someone who already has some plumbing knowledge, but it is not at all useful to someone like me(namely elderly with absolutely no plumbing knowledge). I will now phone a plumber who won't explain it to me either but who will hopefully be able to fix it.

Are you please able to provide the actual model no. of the bosch dishwasher. The serial no. is not much help.

The reason it may not be admitting water is because the flood switch may be triggered. This means it will not take any more water and the sound you hear is the pump running to empty the dishwasher. YOu will have to find why the flood switch is turning on. Are you using the AquaSafe circuit in the dishwasher inlet circuit? If water is leaking then this circuit will trigger and stop water from coming through inlet. But then you should also get some alarms on the display.

Please provide the model no.

I have an older bosche dishwasher and the I know the water is flowing into the unit and collecting at the bottom of the drain but it is not getting into the spray arms in the middle and top to work at all....

there is a chacne that the main wash motor is not drawing enough water into the pump to spray through the arms.you can try and add some more water to the dishwasher and see if there is any change.
if there is no change then you migh need to replace either the contol board or the main wash motor

Dishwasher just emptying

I am at the end of my tether. I have bought a new door latch for my Bosch SGS 43E02 GB45, so door now closes properly and have managed to stop the leak under the front left hand side of the machine. Howver it sounds as if it is constantly emptying. It does not go onto the new wash cycle just keeps pumping out the water. It did run a quick rinse yestreday but now is back to the constant emptying problem. Even when I open the door it still keeps running and staying on a emptying cycle despite there being no visible water left inside the machine. Please help!!

Dishwasher won't start rinse cycle

It sound that the problem is cause the water switch level. The switch level is usually a diaphragm device with a small clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. I am not familiar with your specific machine, but if you will open the rear panel you will find it easily. Clear tube first from any obstruction, In case it doesn't help, disconnect the wires from the unit (you should disconnect first machine's power cable !!!!!) and measure with a multi-meter on its tugs for continuity and disconnection while you are inhale and blow to its tube. In case it doesn't react, you should replace it. Good luck !
