Are you sure that you've got the correct driver for your hardware and operating system as driver files can be notoriously pedantic? I'm assuming that perhaps you've downloaded the install file from the RealTek website but if you've got the wrong version it's unlikely to install successfully. If you let me know what the model number is and the operating system you're using I might be able to point you to a download url.
