Cannot connect UPnP - Archos 605 WiFi Digital Media Player

Posted by on

1 Answer

Hi, No expert but how I got UPnP to work fully on Archos 605 WiFi. WMP11 found the 605 and Authorized but the 605 never listed my PC under UPnp devices. Others on www seem to find WMP tricky so I gave up, I had Nero Home UPnp & Also Roxio Media (Came with blackberry) both Served UPnP to 605, 605 could see both listed under UPnP in Video, Audio & Photos. Could play all apart from Video! (Despite being able to play direct through File/Netwrok Browser) Anyway assumed Archos problem if these two did not work proplerly with Video. In desperation tried TVersity (Others talk about it a lot). All worked immediately, Video & all. So I would try this first if your have any sort of problems.

When i connect my sansa with a computer the comp does not recognise it. pls help me.

There may be a number of causes for this problem here. Either the system requirements for the computer to recognize the device has not been met; the driver that is needed in order for the device to work, is corrupted; your computer has restrictions for certain devices played on it or you have a power issue meaning you need to charge your MP3 player. http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42 gives you plenty of solutions and procedures to try. I am thinking that you probably need to update one of your drivers. Go to your "Control Panel" and check the "Device Drivers" link and click update device drivers (You may get a Windows Administration approval message). Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers tree. Find your device and click "Update Driver Software" (system unit with a green arrow icon). I would check the link above for the best solution to this problem. You may also want to check your services on your computer. That is the application that shows all of the services that are running on your computer. There may be a PnP (Plug and Play), UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) or (if you have Windows) a Windows Media service that has not been started; if so you need to turn it on. If you check your services manger, I would check every single service on there because a lot of services depend on or require other serivces to work, (i.e a Plug and Play service may need a COM + System application service in order to function). http://www.speedyvista.com/vista.php, if you have windows, gives you a better understanding of what services are needed in order for certain components to work on a PC. You can just type in "services" in the search box of your start menu. I hope this helped.

I just got my ipo touch when i go to setting then wi- fi connection i see a connection called blessing 54g that has all the bars but then it says password and i put my password that i usein there and then...

You may be trying to connect to a connection that isn't yours. Make sure that you're connecting to the correct signal. Either that, or your router just isn't allowing your iPod touch to connect. This may be able to be remedied through the use of the router controls. If you connect to your router and look around in there, you may be able to find a setting that will allow it to connect.

Connect itouch to internet

From what it sounds like, you are working in a Windows environment. What you are trying to do is bridge your wireless ad-hoc network with your wired network connection. Windows does not support this method of connection even though they have the option for "allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection". That would only work if you had two ethernet cards in your system, and that option bridges one ethernet port with the other. It doesn't support bridging to your wireless adapter.
Most laptop wireless cards do not support an "infrastructure" mode, which would turn your notebook into a mobile router. Instead they create an ad-hoc network completely separate from your wired network. There are some commercial pieces of software that can bridge the two, though I've never been able to make them work.
The easiest route would be to go to Target or a local electronic store and pick up a wireless router. You would take the ethernet connection from your laptop and attach it to the router. Then your laptop and iPod would both connect to the internet through the router.

Connection problem.

Don't know if this will work with this router, but witth my Orange router, I had exactly the same. I had to press a "pairing" button on the router when it was trying to connect to my Archos, and then it connected almost straight away. Otherwise, I could not connect.
