You can replace your door swithc by using a precision screwe in the top of the switch or under the swict coz its only side lock type swithc.

Why won't ice tray filling stop?

Michael, I suspect that the water solenoid valve needs replacement--that symptom usually causes either a slow leak and an overflowing ice cube tray or no water flow at all. To test the solenoid valve, slide your refrigerator out and view the back cover. There should be a double solenoid valve down near the bottom back of your refrigerator, one solenoid valve for the water serve spout on the front of the freezer door, and the other solenoid valve for the ice maker. I'd swap the clear plastic lines (to the door water spicket and the icemaker, put a plastic cup under the door water spicket and check in a few minutes for water leaking into your cup--if it does leak into the cup, you've found the problem! There are seval excellent videos on the web covering how to replace the valve, see: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-water-inlet-valve-5221ja2006d-ap4445614.html

That solenoid is controlled by a cam driven switch built into the ice maker motor assembly which can occasionally go bad and need replacement or adjustment, but my experience points to a leaking dirt plugged-open water solenoid valve. Replacment solenoid valves are easy to replace at a cost ranging from $20 to $78 with free shipping to your doorstep--check ebay!

Lsc27914st/00 ice maker will not fill the tray, prior to that is the water leaked down the walls of the freezer

Hello KYMBERLY;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

There is a white plastic fill tube that runs from the back of your refrigerator into your freezer. This fill tube in the freezer section is open at the top. This tube goes into the ice maker fill cup on the right hand side of your ice maker. Opening and closing the freezer door - warm air gets in, forms condensate, and freezes. So, your fill tube and/or your fill tube is blocked with ice.

Remove the extra storage shelf in front of the ice maker. Using a hair dryer defrost the ice in the fill cup and fill tube. This is located on the right hand side of you icemaker.

Our whirlpool ( ED22TW) no longer has water line attached, but we would fill up the ice bucket manually. The ice auger doesn't work when we push the lever on the front of the fridge. What's wr

On the freezer door at top where hinge is located a plastic hinge cover also covers a plug where many times the connection gets loose. Insure the plug is together firmly and all the wires are making contact. If that is not the problem then remove the ice bin push the freezer door light switch in as you press the dispense ice lever while looking at the motor coupling. Does it turn while pressing the light switch in as you also press the dispense button? If the first two test don't solve the problem then the micro-switch=> Micro-Switch-2162361-00564282

could be the problem. Let me know if I can answer any questions and I will try to get this going for you Thanks Sea Breeze

Ice forms around fan and makes a loud humming noise

It's probablly caused by air leakage through the ice room fan electrical connection inside the freezer. Behind the back wall inside the freezer, the icd fan is the fan that blows air up to the in-door icemaker. The plug on that, into a molded plug on the back of the feezer compartment, is a red plastic part with three wires in it. Try filling in around the wires and the red plastic with a bit of silicone. (if you replace the ice room fan, the new plug comes with a rubber filler which seals this spot). (PS. Next time, avoid Sears)

Icemaker problem

Good day,
with a small paper cup, pour water in the ice maker cavity to near full. make sure it's turned on, and close the freezer door and wait approx 3 to 4 hours. See if it dumps. (I've had new ones out of the box that never worked).
If the ice maker checks o.k. then it is one of two problems.
1. The fill tube that runs from the back of the ice maker to the outside rear of the machine, has become blocked with ice.
Remove ice maker, and inspect closely. If iced, defrost, but be carefull with heat. A lot of plastic and vinyl there that is easily ruined.
2. If that checks O.K., and you get water in the door, then the dual water valve in the bottom rear is bad, and needs replaced.

My ice maker is not filling up with water preventing it from making ice. However we are recieving water from the door

Check the well in the ice maker to see if there is ice in it. If empty, with a small cup, pour water in the cavity until it is near full. With the ice maker turned on close freezer, and wait about 2 hours to see if it will harvest what you put in. If it harvests O.K..
then it is usually the dual water valve in the bottom rear of the machine, and will need to replaced.
2 exceptions. Rare but are possibilities. One. The fill tube that fills the ice maker has built ice up and will not let the water reach the ice maker. You have to remove the ice maker to inspect the tube, and if it's blocked with ice, must be defrosted but WITHOUT heat. A hair dryer or such will create havoc with the plastic parts. Two. There is a micro switch in the ice maker that can fail and fail to send info to the water valve to fill while it is going thru a harvest cycle. If it is exception One, the water valve still must be replaced as well, since it is leaking small amounts of water when the ice maker is off. If it is exception two, the ice maker must be replaced. These exceptions are rare but I've had to deal with them more than once.

Ice machine does not make ice

No guide that I know of .

Open the freezer door and see if the laser light on the right side , flashes twice , then pause , repeatedly . Close the flap on the left side , and the laser should stop flashing . If this is what occures , then the optics ( cut off of the icemaker ) are ok . If you open the freezer and no laser on the right , check the position of the "rake" inside the icemaker . Close the freezer door for about 1 min , and then recheck the position of the rake . If it hasn't moved , then the icemaker is bad .
If the light flashes 2 times then pauses , pour about 2/3 cup of water into the icemaker , and check later , to see if the ice maker has dumped the cubes . If did not dump , replace the icemaker . If did dump , and did not fill with water , then the water valve behind the refrig is bad . Also check the black fill tube above the ice maker fill cup , to see if it is iced up , keeping the water from going into the fill cup . If it is frozen , then replace the water valve , due to seeping ( not closing completely ) , causing the slight drip , to freeze inside the tube .
This is the only guide I know of and it's called an experience guide .

Kenmore 10670187000 Refrigerator. freezer filling with water/ice

You pull it out from inside the freezer but I would try melting any ice that may be stopping it up first with a hairdryer. The water inlet valve on the back of fridge is probably leaking and when the water gets to to fill tube it freezes and partially blocks the tube causing it to spray out. Disconnect the line coming out of the water inlet valve to see if it has a slow leak. You may need to replace the valve.

Door liner on chest freezer broke due to ice build-up

if you can't find a replacement, use a piece of flat vinyl siding that goes on houses. You can heat it and bend it as needed, or cut it and screw the pieces to a balsa wood frame for lightweight support. Glue or epoxy probably won't work as the cold temps make them brittle but external caulking may be ok to hold the pieces together. Be sure to sand all edges and corners as the cut plastic can be sharp. If you can disassemble the unit and place the door face down, you can fill the cavity with insulating foam to help stabilize it.
