Question about Bosch Dryers

1 Answer

I have a Bosch Exxcel Condenser dryer. It runs for 5 mins and then beeps continuously. 2 lights flash- Empty Condenser and Empty Filter. However we have emptied them. I think something is blocked inside, but I have not got a star shaped screwdriver head to open up the back of the dryer. Is there anything I can do? Thanks from John

Thanks Ginko, I have tried a few tool shops today but nobody seems to sell them, however I have found out it's a Torx screwdriver I need. I have found a few for sale on the web but none of them give sizes.
Guess I'll have to take a chance and try out a few.

    Thanks from John

Go to nearest tools shop and buy the screwdriver

If it stops after a while it is either a problem with power supply or, more likely , something stuck inside.
First thing to do is to inspect the inside looking for foreign objects.
Get the screwdriver and eventually come back to us.

You need to open the back of the tub. At the bottom of the tube there should be a foreign objects trap, often this is screwed with a star screwdriver (not conventional ones), to prevent unauthorized service. Do not work on machine with power connected.
I will be back online in few hours

The heat stopped working on my Bosch WTL 5100 dryer (the dryer turns around just fine). I cleaned out the condenser filter, then opened up the back and pressed the red reset button. It worked -- once.

are u getting the full 240 voltage in some machines it uses 2 settings to run and to heat? u might get 120 for running it but the other 120 to run heat> thus u get it running but no heat? other wise u may have a bad heating element or hi-lo thermostat or the thermal cut off fuse, u can check with multimeter and u can buy cheap multimeter at places like harbor freight for 5 bucks

I have a Bosch Exxcel tumble- dryer. It starts normally and runs normally for about five then, then a light begins flashing and washing is completely wet. I have been moving the washing around and...

3 important things to maintain with this dryer.
1. after every dryer use you MUST completely clean the lint filter in the machine. examine the fiter closely as washing powder and softener overuse can clog the fine mesh.
2. You should empty the water draw regularly.
3. You need to clear the condenser of lint and dust. This is located at the bottom of the Machine behind a hinged door. Unsecure the condenser and slide it out. (aluminum mutifinned box assembly) Take the condenser outside and using a garden hose with plenty of water pressure , carefully spray the airways clear in both directions, longways and crossways. Crossways is the more difficult to clear but must be done. Make sure you can see daylight through the fins once completed. Reassemble and test. If still problems a service man must come and clear lint and build up away from the pump area.

Bosch Classixx condenser dryer not heating and turns itself off.

Most likely the heating element or a thermostat.

the warning does not strictly mean filter only
there is a lint blockage somewhere in the vent system and there is only a single response the dryer knows to make
fan housing
outside vent
could all be sufficiently blocked to set off the warning

There are three water reservoirs - one at the bottom behind the condenser, a second at the back bottom of the machine and then a third at the top which is the one you would normally pull out to empty.

There is a hole at the bottom of the filter in the first reservoir (at the back of the condenser) which leads to the second reservoir at the back. If the hole gets clogged up with lint/muck then the reservoir at the back does not fill up.

So to solve this, unplug the machine, take out the condenser (front left bottom of the machine) reach through to the back and mop up the spare water with a towel and check that the hole to the back reservoir - you can feel this it is towards the right side at the back of the machine is clear from muck.

Once you have cleared it, water will flow to the second reservoir and then (once you switch on the machine) up to the main removeable reservoir at the top.

Hopefully this helps. GB

Filter light flashing on bosch exxcel condenser, repeatedly.

This should help you find a manual.

Tip: Always provide the complete information provided on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the user’s manual. This will help you acquire a more accurate and expeditious response to your complaint.
