Question about Canon PIXMA MX850 Multifunction Printer

1 Answer

I have the same Error Number 300 with my Canon MX850 - it is connected by ethernet cable to my wireless router. I can scan documents OK, but when I go to print it says that the printer does not respond...and to make sure that it is plugged in, switched on and properly connected to the computer. It may be a networking issue, as it used to print over the network; I can still use it that way for scanning; and the Canon utility can be used to check things such as ink levels. It prints fine when connected directly to the USB port of the computer...

Hi Daniel, I just had a quick look and other people here have posted problems regarding error code 300 on the MX850. Take a look here when you get a minute to see if any of the solutions posted help you out at all. It's a long shot as this link is for Apple users but it might point you in a direction you hadn't yet tried. All the best.

How can I set up my HP C7180 to scan to my second laptop, a VAIO VPC-EB33FM/B

To be able to scan to the laptop it MUST be connected to the printer either with a usb cable or through the router. There is a way to bypass the wireless functionality of the router and laptop. Use an ethernet cable to connect your laptop directly to the router. It should work right away. It's highly unlikely that Windows XP will not work the wireless router. I would suggest you contact the actual manufacturer of the router instead of verizon.

If you mean phone modem on PC then no. Check connection between pc and router by acessing the webinterface (instuctions in linksys user manual).

If all OK there then contact your ISP.

This router will not keep a stable wireless connection; it works fine for ethernet; we have loaded upgrades to the router . This problem exists for four laptops we have tried it with. A;; of them work fine...

Do a wireless scan on your computer and out how many wireless access is in your neighborhood. More than likely that your router is sharing the same wireless channel number as your neighbor's. Go to your router and cheange to opposite of what your neighbor is on.

What are my options to configure Canon i850 for wireless printing

Hi

I looked at the specs of you printer and it does not support ethernet/ wireless connectivity your best bet would be to connect your printer to your router with usb cable that's if your router supports it else you can buy what they call a wireless print server and connect wirelesly to your router or pc

Wireless printing does not work

For an effective wireless connection, the printer should be connected to one of the LAN ports of a configured wireless router. This way, every pc(mostly laptops with wireless capability) can print to the printer. You will need a wireless adapter for desktop pcs to access any resource made available wirelessly ok. Good luck

"how do I set up my canon mx850 mfp to wireless

If you use DHCP in the Router then all should work after connecting the printer to the router with the Ethernet (RJ-45) cable. If you are assigning a IP address then you need to go to the network menu on the printer and input the unique IP and the Gatewy address for your network.
