retrevo .com lists unit as "time to retire"... If that not option for you then need to explore the possibility of a less than $20 DIY fix. You need to state exactly what you see or don't see on lcd screen when you push the "ON/OFF" button!!! What exactly is "flashing? The screen or the "on/off" button? Is unit connected to a "known good" pc that is fully booted with all "screen saver" "power save" modes disabled? Will the "flashing" stop after 5 minutes and display the WIN-desktop and icons? or does screen remain black or black n blank? 12fixlouie

That may be the indication of failing power supply or th ebcaklight inverter circuits, those are the two areas you need to check.

I have 2 monitors connected to 1 computer using a

satservice, What happens AFTER 15 min of FLASHING?? What did unit do or act like 3-4 weeks ago? Is the screen both BLACK and BLANK? or is screen just black and you can SEE win-desktop if you shine a bright flashlight 1 inch from screen at differnt angles? Can you use your Samsung warranty? Will monitor do same when connected to different KNOWN GOOD prebooted to desktop PC? Are you refering to the "power ON" indicator light on front BEZEL as the FLASHING thing? Need more info, but I suspect "shutdown of units "switch-mode-power-supply" due to detection of FAULT CONDITION having been detected with other circuit or with itself. Mine shut down during my normal working day. Same thing, turn it off and on again - screen flashes up briefly then flicks off again.
Called Samsung and they are replacing it with a refurbished screen under warranty.

Monitor power light is blinking .but monitor is not displaying anything after 4 hr monitor blinking light is become slow and when restart the monitor is displaying after 4 hr please help me i have a 20.1...

If there is a flashing led on front of the monitor, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1 The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr suddenly are a blown capacitor on power board, the inverter board powering up backlight lamp has blown, or a fault on main lcd controller board.
check also the video cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Check connectors, try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact manufacturer to find out a service point.

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Flashing on and off

I would suggest trying another monitor to rule out your PC or monitor card. I would also check the video settings on the PC. Then assuming your cable/connector and video card are okay, it sounds like a lamp or lamp driver (a.k.a. ballast or inverter) issue. In other words, an internal issue that probably needs component-level troubleshooting.

Hi,
Unplug the monitor from the back of the computer and keep it powered on . If the problem is encountered again. Try reseting the monitor . If the same does not help you need to replace the monitor.
