Question about Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless-B Broadband Router (12503024)

I have not used my Linksys router in quite some time, and I have lost the installation disk. I've looked on several sites, but I cannot seem to find the drivers. How can I get "up and running?"

Open a browser window and then type http://192.168.1.0 or http://192.168.1.1 and enter your router settings. change settings including password. unless you've set it up differently and actually have a username and password, leave the username space blank and use "admin" as the password. that's often the default password on a linksys. linksys has a great support page. they have the drivers, manuals, the works.
your specific page for the drivers and the manual for your router which includes specific info including password, setup procedures, explanation of the various settings, how to do a hard factory reset, etc. is here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/BEFW11S4

You don't need drivers for the router. Connect your computer with ethernet cable at the router and after the connection has been established, hit start - run - type cmd. At the new black window type ipconfig and hit enter. Locate the line for "Default Gateway" and write down the ip address at this line (not any of the others ip addresses). It has to be in this form XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX. Open your browser and go to the address http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX. You will go at the router's setting's page asking for a user-name and a password (default user:admin and pass:admin or blank or 1234). From this page you can set up the router as you like.

Lost Install Disk

You don't need the install disk to use the router. If you plug in the router and press the reset button on the back of the router, the you should be able to connect to the network using only the windows wireless program.

Lost disk

Umm, try going to the linksys website, but to be honest, I have set up several linksys networks using your type of router and it works perfectly fine without the setup cd.

Lost startup disk

Are you trying to get the router settings through the IP address 192.168.1.1? If that doesn't respond, look at the back of the router for a small reste hole. With the router power plugged in, use a paper clip to reset the router config back to default. Hold the reste switch in for 30 seconds and pull the power afterwards while holding the switch in. Try that. There really shouldn't be a set-up disc needed for Windows XP or Vista. If you are using a DSL connection, I am sorry to inform you, but there is only 1 dependable router for wireless DSL and it is made by D-link. If you still feel you need a set-up disc, look on linksys website and search their archived download section.

Linksys router

Hi Angel,
You don't have to use the install cd. Got to start>run and type in CMD. In the black box that opens, type in IPCONFIG. Look at the list of info presented, till you see Gateway IP, Put those numbers, probley 192.168.x.x, in the address bar of your Internet Explorer. An access window will pop up, For user, put in admin, leave the password blank, or use the word password to access your router. Good Luck!
