Your dryer is called 220, but in actuality it is only 110 X 2. If you have a 3 pronged plug to go into the wall, each of the slanted & flat prongs are carrying 110 volts. The roundish center prong is a ground.
One of the flat prongs is for the motor and the controls, the other is for the heating element. If you have a 4 pronged plug, the two side flat parallel lugs are 110 volts each, and the top flat and the roundish lugs are both ground.
Be blessed.

I will use a transformer that cuts down from 220volts to 110volts. I don't know the wattage of AD40DSR1 dehumidifier. What is it?

whats the brandname of the dehumidifier more importantly the amperage. a number with the letter (a) next to it. lets say it is 0.5A . then your wattage should be the voltage of the dehumidifier multiplied by the amperage of the dehumidifier. "ASSUMING" the voltage is 110v and the amperage 0.5A then 110Vx0.5A= 55watts

I purchased a GE DRYER here in Greece from someone who left to go back to Canada and sold it to me.... the Model number is DDE5100M and the serial number is VF22384GG ....Question is.....is it 220 volts or...

If you can check on the motor below , if will be marked for the specification ,the voltage will be written .
Now converting a 110 to 220 is a littler expensive and might not be recommended by the economical scale as you will need a step down transformer with a high rating of power. ...will cost.
so decide to check and if 220 ,you will be lucky

MY DRYER TAKES A LONG TIME TO DRY CLOTHES. HAD IT FOR 5 YEARS. MOVEDTO NEW HOUSE AND HAD TO CHANGE POWER CORD BUT IT WORKED FINE AT FIRST. DO I NEED A NEW HEATING ELEMENT?

It sounds like you may have hooked it up to 110volts while most dryers need to run on 220volts. If your new house has gas then a gas dryer would run on 110volts as it gets it's heat from the gas flame. If this is the case you would need to run a new 220volt line to the unit. this can be costley and you may be better off trading your electric one for a gas one as that will probally be cheaper to run in the long run.

KENMORE DRYER MODEL #96263800 WON'T HEAT

Need to know brand name and model#..........but it sounds like your only getting 110volts to the dryer instead of 220volts........The moter and controls will run on 110v. but the heaters require 220v. carfully remove small cover on back or if you have a outlet(wall plug) you must check for 220volt...PROBABLE CAUSE 1 fuse blown,,,, or bad circiut breaker. FIRST is there 220v. at plug This will tell us if it's a wiring prob. or dryer prob.
