Perhaps you can try updating driver software or refresh (scan for device changes) again to see if that error is still there.

You will have to open up your network connections.

Click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled.

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager look for network adapters + expand Ethernet driver if you see a yellow Question/ Exclamation mark ? ! or a Red X you will need to update/reinstall the driver for the device

You only need check the following if you cant install the driver

Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios.

Restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys scroll to intergrated peripherals

look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press Enter make sure its enabled
then recheck the driveri t should be there
k the driver it should be there
make sure its enabledPci device arrows key scroll to nstalled
if you computer came with a motherboard disk the driver could be on it
or this disk provided by your ISP provider Internet Service Provider

Hi, i do have a n1996, ms-6547, motherboard, imtrying to download a fix for and also for usb 2 and i can not find them, thanks in advance

control panel admistrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or ports(com&lpt)right click update driver

If your Device Manager shows an ENHANCED USB Host Controller, the system has High Speed USB (USB 2.0) capability.

Types of High Speed USB (USB 2.0) Host Controllers

· Intel Enhanced

· SiS Enhanced

· VIA Enhanced

· ALi Enhanced

· Standard Enhanced

· NEC Enhanced

The system shown has onboard Intel High Speed USB (USB 2.0) with an NEC High Speed USB (USB 2.0) PCI card installed.

The key word is ENHANCED. If you have an ENHANCED USB Host Controller then you have High Speed USB (USB 2.0)

All other types are USB v.1.1

hope this helps

I reinstalled the operatiing system & it won't to the internet. Doesn't show an network conn ection in the device manager just a yellow question mark by the ethernet controller. I've installed all the...

Here are the stpes that you can try..Go to Device Manger select ethernet controller, then right click, select Properties and then select Uninstall. After this re-install your Ethernet driver. The yellow question mark means that the computer is not detecting the device.

Ethernet controller driver can,t be found

Hi there.
right click in the adapter with the yellow mark and select properties, look in the device status box, if it says code 10 the device cannot start then you installed the wrong drivers for the adapter.
Get the correct network controller drivers from here >>>>>>>>

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/tm_2480.html

If you still suffer the same symptoms after the correct drivers are installed then the device maybe faulty.

Good luck
