I have a new Xbox 360 Slim and I am having a problem staying on Xbox live. I will sign in and after about 10 minutes I will get the message that says "signed out of Xbox live"...I will hit the...

Check out this link and look at the part about setting up a dedicated i.p. address on your router: http://routerdisconnects.blogspot.com/

This is just one of MANY solutions to your problem. It could be also that your router is AutoRenewing which is not easily identified as an issue on your computer but can be a big issue on your Xbox Live as it will disconnect you every time it attempts to AutoRenew.

Also ready this link on how to setup a router for Xbox Live. It is Linksys Wireless-G but has the basic principles down for your setup of most any router.

And lastily here is the always helpful Xbox Support link that can guide you through some issues with your connection: http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-live/troubleshoot/connection-issues/default.aspx

Hey i have a thomson TG782T and i am trying to connect an xbox 360 elite to xbox live through an ethernet cable and i am having the mtu error come up. i already have an xbox 360 slim connected which works...

Maximum transmission unit is 1500, but for the Xbox 360 it "must" be set within the range 1364 - 1492
Since there's no MTU settings for the TG782T. your only choice is to replace it with routers like Linksys, Belkin, Netgear.

Trying 2 get connected 2 the internet on the xbox 360

firstly are you using a cable to your wireless router or a wireless adapter from your xbox 360?

if you are using a wireless connection i suggest you first connect to the xbox using the wire provided with your xbox and connect it into your router,

hope this works, if not write back and il help you

good luck

Turning the xbox 360 into xbox 360 live?

ok, so if you want to do it wirelessly you need to get the wireless network adapter for the 360. i got mine at target for about 100 bucks. You also will need a Xbox live Gold card if you are wanting to play with your friends. you can also get your subcription over the xbox by using a credit card. The setup is pretty simple, just follow the on screan instructions. I am assuming your dashboard uses the "blades". if so, go over to the marketplace section, and go to join xbox live. then it will guide you through the process.

Hope this helps you.

Xbox live connection keeps crashing.

Hi,

problems usually happen, when the signal strength drops.
I,d suggest hard-wiring the 360 to the PC or router, for optimal performance.

Thankyou for using fixya.

Xbox elite

You need to enter the router configuration. How you do this varies by model, but usually involves typing your gateway address into a web browser. Then, you need to assign your xbox an internal IP address and activate port triggering or forwarding (depending on the sophistication of your device) to send information on the designated ports to the Xbox. Was this solution helpful? It may have trouble recieving the ip addrees from the router, but not sure what switch you are using if you have a router you should connect directly unless its a wireless switch.
