Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

I have a wooden sliding sash single glazed frame window. The inner window frame will not close or stop down correctly. It keeps on rising upwards when trying to close the window. Can you give me some assistance and any ideas as to how I can rectify the problem. What part of the box frame do I need to remove and or replace? I look forward to hearing from you soon as winter is approaching and need to have the window draught proof! Thank you. John

Replacing any part.this is still have to be confirmed. But first the box window frame has to be removed and checked internally. But the glass passes from the frame,so if this glass is getting blocked by any part internally or the latch which pushes the glass up and down this latch has to be checked. To confirm this the wooden frame has to be removed out. Then only further diagnosis can be continued, ----------- Before doing any thing first take the photo of the window position, before removing any thing.then start disassembling the wooden window frame.keep taking the photo in your web cam or from any other source.so it will help while reassembling. Most probably the glass passing area in the wooden frame is getting blocked by any part. This has to be cleared so it will solve the problem. ---------- Check out.keep updated.thanks.

Microwave cleaning

Place a bowl of water in the microwave (with a non-metal object such as a wooden spoon or stir stick in the water*) and heat for 3 - 5 minutes, depending how hard the crud is really stuck on. When microwave stops, keep the door closed to give the moisture and steam the heated bowl of water generated to have time to work. Remove bowl (careful, it's hot) and take a moist, warm cloth to the inside of the microwave. The crud bits should wipe off easily

I have a Durabrand DBM001 microwave which until yesterday was working fine. Have checked plug and socket - they are working fine. As it is only a basic microwave there is only a timer button to turn the...

This could be the upper latch in the door. Mine stopped working just as you describe. After dis-mantling I noticed the mechanical action which should operate 3 micro-switches in the door lock was not working correctly on the upper switch when the door was closed.

This is part of the safety interlock circuit to prevent operation of the magnetron when the door is open.

Closer inspection of the door striker arm revealed a crack which allowed the top part of the arm to spring away from the upper switch which stopped the oven working.

This part is easily removed by prising the door inner trim off gently, starting at the bottom was easiest for me, then sliding the arm up against the spring tension until it slides clear of the guide grooves, finally detach the spring.

I have no idea where to get spare parts for this ASDA only branded product, so I am going to use super strong epoxy resin to repair the striker arm.

Broken Neff microwave hook for tension spring on door. Can I reconnect spring to metal frame or will there be too much tension?

If you very carefully prise off the inner trim of the door you should be able to see where the lug broke that was originally holding the screen. Use a small cable tie to fix one end of the spring to one a the angle pieces of metal around where the window is, about the same level (make sure the other end of the spring is on the hook assembly). You can secure the cable tie and adjust how tight you pull it to get to roughly the same tension it would be if still on the original lug. Cut off the excess of the tie and clip the frame back in position. Door should open and close now.
Hope this helps

Mmi have a ge advantiun x20 model SCA1001FSS01 THE HNDLE IS BROKEN OFF HOW DO i REPLACE THIS pafife@yahoo.com

HELLO.

THE SOLUTION ON HOW TO REPLACE THE BROKEN HANDLE

THINGS NEEDED.

Phillips screwdriver.
Thin, flat-head screwdriver.
Putty knife.
Replacement microwave door handle.

1 Examine the inside of the door. The handles of some early GE Spacemaker microwave models were attached after the two inner door panels were assembled to the outer door. If you see two recessed screws opposite the handle attaching points, undo them with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the handle. If not, go to the next step.

2 Insert the blade of a thin, flat-head screwdriver into the top, outer corner of the door, between the plastic inner frame and the outer door. Gently pry the inner frame out and slip a putty knife into the exposed opening on top of the door. Slide the putty knife toward the hinges to free the top of the inner frame; repeat on the front and bottom edges of the door and lift the inner frame out to expose a second metal inner frame.

3 Insert a thin, flat-head screwdriver into each of the small square openings on the top and bottom of the inner metal frame, starting at the handle end of the door. Undo the attaching clips by gently levering the inner door away, using the rim of the outer door as a fulcrum. Move the inner door away from the outer door on its hinges.

4 Remove the glass from the outer door. Undo the two screws holding the handle to the outer door with a Phillips screwdriver. Screw the replacement handle onto the door and tighten securely.

5 Replace the glass panel and reassemble the door by snapping the two inner frames back in place.

Thanks.

How do i replace door handle

Open the door and look at the inner door. You'll see a frame about an inch and a half to two inches wide surrounding the window. You'll need a very flexible putty knife of about the same width. The narrow frame around the window is metal. Don't scratch it! Put your blade into the gap just above the window part and slide it (no scratching) along until it hits something. That's probably one of the little "L" shaped hooks holding the frame on. Back the putty knife out a little a GENTLY pry downwards. You should see it pop loose at that point. It will try to pop back into place, that's where a second putty knife or something similar is handy. Once you get a couple of those loose it goes pretty fast. Just keep prying and peeling until it comes off. GENTLY. And, no scratches. Now you can see the two screws holding the handle. Once the handle is replaced, that frame will snap back into place just by pressing on it. That frame cost is about $40.00, so don't get in a hurry.
Good luck.

Mine also does the same thing however I only need to lift the door upwards slightly (after it's closed) and it engages the High Voltage Transformer, thus working as normal.

Once you know that, you can get it to work every time. I beleive the clips on the door don't properly stop latch in correctly and the safety feature keep the microwave from acutally turning truly "ON".

NEFF H5470NOGB Microwave door latch fault

theres a small plastic hook inside the door which holds a tension spring this will have snapped off stopping the latch from entering the lock its actually quite easy to fix the inner plastic frame can be unclipped with a small flat blade screwdriver exposing the hook mechanism and the spring will be lying in the bottom of the door frame you can reconnect it to the metal inner frame it stretches the spring a little more but it will never snap again ive done this loads of times with no probs otherwise you will have to replace the outer door to reinstate the broken hook.

Panasonic microwave door is stuck. The door is not opening

If you push in on the open door button and it just goes in and does not open the door, then the problem is that the plastic piece that actually opens the door has broken. You can verify this by removing the cover from the microwave and look inside. If you are handy just buy the part from the panasonic parts store in your city and replace it. If not take it in and they will replace it for you.

Good luck
