Hi.

Problem is either connection to the CCD sensor or broken lens.

If the screen is completely dark, then problem is likely the CCD sensor.
The CCD sensor is the device that captures light, generating the signal for the digital image. The CCD sensor is a chip located right behind the lens, inside the camera body.

The repair job is carried disassemblying the camera, and re heating solder joints to CCD sensor or replacing the sensor chip. The repair must be done by a technician.

You can get a quote on repair calling Nikon, or you can get a quote from a third party service here:Repair.

Regards.

Ginko.

Sony cybershot t300 lcd screen remains dark when switched on

Hi,
Your camera must be experiencing these symptoms due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems. If the problem is due to your dropping the camera, you might be out of luck.
If you have not dropped your camera and still facing this problem, then contact service people to replace the CCD imager in your camera .

Hope this helps .

Every time i take a photo with no Nikon D40 i end up with a blurred dark spot towards the cener of the view finder? what can this be?

Do you only see the spot in the viewfinder or does it appear on the photos? Could be dust on either the sensor or the focusing screen.

Hello I have a nikon coolpix s7c that i bought in the usa about 2yrs ago i dropped it it does every thing but take photoes or film anything. i think the shutter must be stuck. bought anotherone off ebay...

Yes, but its not somehing you're going to be able to do without explicit knowledge - as there are 200 pieces in the shutter alon that must be disassembled properly in tight tolerances - and then faulty parts replaced.

I recommend taking the camera in to an AUTHORIZED Nikon repair shop to have it cleaned and repaired.

Camera won't read memory card

More than likely the problem with this is that when dropped it caused component damage or a cable was jogged loose. To fix this would mean to complete disassemble the camera, then to find the problem and reassemble the whole unit. This is not a job for the faint. It is an intense project and may be better to sell for parts on a site such as Ebay or have it repaired by Nikon. Nikon does have a trade up program which may be better as far as the expense involved.

Any time a digital camera is dropped to a hard surface or with any impact, the damage can be from nothing to what is described here.
Hope you do well with it.

Dropped my Nikon D40x, Pictures dark, won't let me go into manual settings.

You will need to send it to Nikon to get the camera checked out - there is nothing user-serviceable that you can do.
Basically, you have broken it. Take more care with your expensive toys... use the strap, buy a silicone jacket, etc.

This sounds like a battery issue. Make sure the battery is fully charged and make sure that your charger is working.
