Question about Dynex DX-PDVD7 Portable DVD Player

Crack in the screen

Waranty - I was told the a crack in the sceen is not covered. Please foward me any information in the warranty that states that a crack is not covered. I don't know how it crack, could have been temperature difference, but it never was dropped or roughly handled.

Typically manufacturers may consider problems such as cracked screens accidental or incidental damage, which is not generally covered under a manufacturer's warranty. Does it still have waranty? I would take it back to the place purchased or send it back to the company for repair or replacement. If it is old or out of waranty I would consider whether it would be worth repair costs or just buy a new one if it is less expensive to buy new or used... I could be wrong but unless there is a screw in the top or the bottom to tighten it down (and if so be careful not to tighten it too tight) and there could also be a screw under the cover but be sure it is out of waranty before taking the cover off even to check that would void the waranty. Hopefully it is something that simple or it is under warantee and can be replaced. Sorry couldn't be much more help.

The fault is with its video processor section. If the set is in waranty period, it will be best for you either get it repaired by its authorised service center, of replaced it by an other one. The second stated will be best, rather than get it repaired as it is new.

Our coby portable DVD player pauses automatically at every couple sceens


It sounds if maybe there is a problem with the laser inside of the dvd player. It is nothing that can be fixed unless under warranty by the manufacturer.

Best Buy won't fix things that are covered under manufacturer's warranty. To fix this, you need to find the manufacturer of your portable DVD player and contact their warranty department.

This information is in the instruction manual that came with the portable DVD player.

How do I make screen brighter?


You can't brighten the screen. If it looks really dim or dark, that means there is something wrong with that unit. The warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase, however, Memorex does have some out of warranty options. Call the tech support line at 800-919-3647 for more information.

Battery wont charge


Well actually it charges while plugged in even when running. but yes not draining it all the way and then charging it fully will decrease the batteries life. So they will not last as long if you take care and charge them properly. Durabrand is actually a walmart brand, made only for walmart. These dvd players are actually outsourced through Lennox. Here is the warranty info you can still have it repaired if it is out of warranty as stated:
Supplier Warranty: We warrant this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of 1 year after purchase, and we will repair it free of charge or replace it at no charge, should it become defective under this warranty, providing you submit proof of purchase (sales slip) with the set. During the initial 1 year period after original purchase, we will service the set that is returned to LENOXX ELECTRONICS CORP., prepaid, at no charge. You could try and contact them for a new battery but their are alot of rip off reports because of no way to contact them. Thats what you run into with these "low price" brands. Unfortunately you save money right away and it will cost you in the long run.

Screen flutters when playing dvds with loud hum.plays cds ok with no hum with cover closed an screen turned off.


Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about a problem like you're describing. The unit needs to be repaired or exchanged. If you're still within the warranty period, (the original warranty from the manufacturer or an extended warranty you purchased from the retailer) contact the relevant party to arrange repair or an exchange.

Black oval spot on screen when turned on


The LCD screens are built with a over-cover of a plastic film and the LCD is inside the cover. Any damage on the LCD glass will not be felt physically on the outside of the screen. So, chances are your LCD is cracked if you find a spider web or a liquid spill effect visible.

My dvd player will not hold a charge so I thought it might need a new battery. Where can I get one?


The only store I found that sold this at some point was Walmart. I went to the Walmart.com site where I found warranty information for this manufactuer and model # (see below for warranty details). Now here's the problem:
The website and phone number for the manufacturer no longer exist. I tried the website first and it linked me to some other website. I tried to call the number provided and an operator came on claiming something about an international directory ... At this point, I'm not sure what Walmart could do, if that is indeed where the system was purchased from. You may be out of luck on this one. Let me know what you find out
