Try going into safe mode, uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling the driver for the video card.

Updates not configured correctly reverting changes help

Good morining, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to answer your question. Your updates aren't configured correctly and you want to know if reverting changes will help? The answer is yes! You can revert changes to an update by using a tool called System Restore. System Restore is a tool provided by Windows Vista that allows you to revert to your computer's last known configuration settings. Do not worry, this will not restore your computer to it's factory settings unless you are installing Vista for the first time. This is helpful if you want to resolve a corrupted file or uncorrect update configuration issue; an error causing you to not be able to upload your OS: or something causing your system to run slowly.

To upload System Restore:

1. 9_26_2011_1_23_39_am.pngClick the Windows logo or press it on your keyboard.

2. 9_26_2011_1_27_06_am.pngThe quickest way to find this is to type "System Restore" in the search box.

3. 9_26_2011_1_29_08_am.pngOnce the System Restore link is shown, click it.

4. 9_26_2011_1_33_59_am.pngIf User Account Control (UAC) asks you (the administrator) to give it permission, click Continue.

5. 9_26_2011_1_37_13_am.pngThe System Restore menu comes up and asks you if you want to either use the recommended restore point or a different restore point of your choosing. I would choose the most updated restore point if possible (ususally the "Recommended restore" one).

6. 9_26_2011_1_39_22_am.pngClick Next>

7. 9_26_2011_1_42_16_am.pngClick Finish to confirm your restore point. You will need to close any open programs or files before doing so because your computer will be restarted.

If you want, once the system is restored, you can try the update again if you want. Knowing from experience, I have had to install update two even three time before they were successful. I hope this answers your question and solves your problem.

What would cause Windows Media Player 11 to NOT display? It shows up in the taskbar, and audio is heard but it will not come up on the screen. No new programs have been loaded and I have done a complete...

This may happen as a result of having made a screen resolution change, especially from a large resolution to a smaller one. Other times, it's a glitch in the programming, though I haven't witnessed one in XP, Vista or better. Try switching to the highest resolution possible and set it. If you now see the Media Player window display, reduce its size to about half, and then reset the resolution to what it was before. Then close the Media player window and restart. It should open to the same exact size as the last time you used it.
Good luck!

Purchased refurb e260 online, came with some songs loaded. Cannot delete them using RealPlayer. How can I remove them?!

Start the sansa updater, set sansa to recovery mode plug in to computer2.gif unplug when told sansa should restart (Lock sansa press and hold rec and menu until recovery begins)
Reset All
NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS
TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.....
Go to my computer click on folder scroll to sansa and open the media folder and open each sub folder and delete manually then delete the folders Right click on your sansa then format a couple of times hope this works

Go to download.com and download media converter SA Edition 0.7. Use this to convert your videos to .avi. Then go to sansa.com and download sansa media converter. Use this to load your videos on your fuze. Load the software. Restart. Plug in your fuze and then start the software.

Vista Internet Problem

Assuming you don't have any data on the hard drive that isn't backed up, use the Product restore CD/DVD that came with the laptop to re-install Vista completely from scratch. THIS WILL WIPE ALL EXISTING DATA FROM THE HARD DRIVE. Then go online ONLY to download any and all Microsoft patches. Then make sure you have good anti-virus software installed and up to date (run the update repeatedly until it says there are no more updates). Then AND ONLY THEN you can safely go online to do other stuff. Install iTunes after taking a System Restore checkpoint (look in the Vista help in the start menu for this). If, after installing iTunes, you get the same problems, use System Restore to revert to the state before installing iTunes. Don't try & uninstall it - it doesn't always work properly. Then use a different media player (e.g. WinAMP) - iTunes and Vista often don't play nicely with each other.
