Cd player My two year old tried to stick another cd in the cd player when there was already one in there. The car was off so the radio was not even on but the next time I tried to get the cd player to play it started to skip I pushed the eject button to get it out and it would not come out and started making this really loud squeal noise! I finally got the cd out but now I cant get a cd to go in. If you look in the cd player there is these two metal things that look like they are what was stopping anything going in or coming out.

i click wiring audio
i click, your audio system (there are many options) CD premium.
fuse 30 (JB) runs the head.
if the radio works? then fuse 30 is not blown. so end path..
the CD is page 47-6
and the CD gets power from head end radio.
so it has power.!
and the Eject function is dead.
my guess(wild) is it's jammed and has a CD label or remains of a broke CD inside or is at END of life, as all do this old.

for sure costing more to fix then to UPGRADE

i'd buy a new media center and now have USB flash sticks full of music, CDs are mostly dead now. an IDEA that is ending now.
you can rip all your CD's to a mp3 file for free and is legal.
(not movies) just audio.
and they all fit on one USB stick size of Chicklet candy.

or remove CD unit
bench test it (add power to it)
remove cover, clean it?
check why its jamming, lots of labor here, and if not you, huge costs.

walmart has a radio with USB ports for $99 ,and a $15 adapter for jeeps.

Try removing the battery cables. Then replace them in a minute. This will cancel everything on the radio and cause a reset. You will have to program all your radio station presets, but it may resolve the issue. If not, I would consider replacing the whole system. The life expectancy of Toyota audio systems is not the best. I have had many Camrys, and they usually quit after 6-7 years. But the cars will run forever !

store bought CD, that fails.?

the the CD drive is bad. get it serviced or upgrade it to USB,
and put your music on stick and end CDs for ever. and ever like us..
or use aux port and MP3 player for $20

yes but why fix a 12 year old player ? something else will just go wrong after that heck cd players are cheap today and fit right in that opening

if the cd unit is not grabbing and pulling in the cd; i would not risk sticking any cd in the unit. the unit is not working properly/faulty, some has better luck than others. don't go to the dealer they will charge you 400-600 bucks for the radio. ebay selling them for 99 bucks for stock radio replacement. hope that help some

Your best bet on that one is to go to a place that sells car audio systems or even some autoparts retailers have them,and get the proper adapter harness already made up. A few more dollars but, a whole lot less headaches.

the only other thing i can think of is that when it says enter single disk only that you do so to a point don't let it go all the way in
this may make the cd player think there is a disk in there

I had to remove the radio and take off the top plate. there is a spring that breaks off of its clip that causes the cd to stick. It's easier to replace the radio all together.
