Question about Philips Magnavox 51MP392H Rear Projection Television
Hi, Is there a repair kit or do it yourself place that I can find for the following problem. We have a Magnavox Projection TV model 55P8288A and the problem with it is that the colors are really bad. There are more orange like than the rest of the color. We try to adjust it with the on screen settings but it does not help. I wonder if posibly the bulbs inside are bad or if anything can be done about it. Any input is appreciated.
Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look white, dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see white halos around images.
Here is a photo of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt lens. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos, step by step instructions, etc.
